Rural Land in the Otago Land District open for Sale or Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the third section of “The Land Act Amendment Act, 1887” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural land enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection, after the lapse of a period of not less than forty-five days from the date of the first public notification hereof, in the manner and upon the conditions mentioned in the said Act, and at the price per acre stated in the said Schedule.

ALL that parcel of land containing about 5,650 acres, called or known by the name of the Waiohine South Block, situated in the Wairarapa South County, in Blocks III., IV., V., and VI., Waiohine Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by the Waiohine River; towards the south by Sections Nos.94 and 548, Block VI., and by Sections Nos. 546.and 547, Block V., Waiohine Survey District; and towards the west by the Forest Reserve.
Cash price, 7s. 6d. to 10s. per acre; deferred payment, 9s. 4½d. to 12s. 6d. per acre; and perpetual-lease rental, 4½d. to 6d. per acre.

Duty leviable on Malt Acid.
ONSLow, Governor.
WHEREAS a certain article of merchandise known as malt acid is imported into New Zealand, which is apparently a substitute for vinegar, the latter being a dutiable article under “The Customs and Excise Duties Act, 1888:” And whereas malt acid has properties in part which can be used for a similar purpose as vinegar: And whereas, by the addition of water to malt acid in the proportion of twelve to one, an article is produced fit for ordinary domestic use as vinegar:
Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by “The Customs and Excise Duties Act, 1888,” do hereby direct that a duty be levied on malt acid at the rate of six shillings and sixpence per gallon, such rate being fixed in proportion to the degree in which the said malt acid approximates in its qualities or uses to vinegar aforesaid.

Shooting Season for Imported Game, License-fee, &c. Opotiki District.
ONSLow, Governor.
IN exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and the Acts amending the same, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that cock-pheasants and quail may be taken or killed within the Opotiki District, consisting of so much of the Counties of East Taupo and Whakatane as lies to the south of the Rangitaiki River, from the first day of May, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one, both inclusive (subject nevertheless to the restrictions in the said Acts mentioned). And I do further notify that licenses to take or kill such game within the said district shall be issued on payment of the sum of ten shillings each, and that licenses to sell native game and game shall be issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each; and the Postmaster at Opotiki is hereby appointed to sign and issue the said licenses:
