Result of Poll for Proposed Loan, County of Vincent.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Vincent County Council, is published in accordance with “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886.”

NOTICE UNDER SECTION 39, “LOCAL BODIES’ LOANS ACT, 1886.”

NOTICE is hereby given that, at a poll of the ratepayers of the Vincent County, held in accordance with the above Act, on Saturday, the 14th day of March, 1891, on the proposal of the said Council to borrow the sum of £3,000, under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” the following result accrued :—

Number of ratepayers entitled to vote 973, entitled to record 1,089 votes; votes recorded for the proposal, 521; number of ratepayers that recorded their votes in favour of the proposal, 455; votes recorded against proposal, 11; number of ratepayers that recorded their votes against the proposal, 11.

And whereas a majority in number of the ratepayers did not vote in favour of the proposal, now, therefore, in accordance with section 39 of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” I declare the said proposal to be rejected.

Special Order made by Cook County Council.—Altering Road Districts and Ridings.

THE following special order, made by the Cook County Council, is published in accordance with “The Counties Act, 1886.”

COOK COUNTY COUNCIL.

A SPECIAL ORDER made by the Cook County Council on Friday, the 3rd October, 1890, and confirmed at a subsequent meeting held on the 3rd November, 1890.

RESOLVED, That the prayer of the petition of the requisite majority of the inhabitants of the Waimata Road District and of Run 44 be granted; and, in accordance therewith, that the part of Waihora Block known as Run 44 be now included in the Waimata Road District.

Resolved, That the boundaries of the Waimata Riding and the boundaries of the Waikohu Riding be coterminous with the boundaries of the Waimata and Waikohu Road Districts respectively, as amended this day.

WAIMATA ROAD DISTRICT.—AMENDED BOUNDARIES.

All that area in Cook County bounded towards the north by Run No. 44a and Run No. 43; towards the east generally by Section No. 1, Block XVI., Waingaromia Survey District, Section No. 1, Block XIII., Uawa Survey District, Section No. 2, Block I., Whangara Survey District, and Section No. 1, Block I., and Section No. 1, Block II., Whangara Survey District, to a point known as Kēreru Kaipo; thence by the Whangara Block to the Tarewarewa Stream; thence again by the said block and the Pouawa Stream to the sea; thence towards the south-east generally by the ocean to the Hamanatua Stream; thence by that stream and the Kaiti Block to the Waimata River; thence by a line across that river to the easternmost angle of Subdivision 20 of the Whataupoko No. 7 Block; thence by the said Waimata River to the north-eastern angle of the Whataupoko No. 6 Block; thence by the last-mentioned block; thence by the Whataupoko No. 4 and No. 3 Blocks, the Whataupoko No. 5 Block, and the south-eastern boundary of the Whataupoko No. 1 Block to the Taruheru River; and thence towards the west by the Taruheru River to the south-eastern angle of the Muhunga Block; thence by the said block to the Ngakoroa Block; thence by the said block, the Papakorokoro Block, and the Waihora No. 2b Block to Run No. 44a aforesaid.


WAIKOHU ROAD DISTRICT.—AMENDED BOUNDARIES.

All that area in Cook County bounded towards the north by a right line from Trig. Station No. 139, Arowhana Survey District, to Trig. Station No. 178; thence by a right line to Trig. Station No. 170; thence towards the east generally by a right line to Trig. Station No. 168; thence by another right line to Trig. Station No. 134, and by a right line from the last-mentioned trig. station to the north-west angle of Run No. 58; thence by the Waimata Road District, hereinbefore described, to the south-western boundary-line of the Ngakoroa Block, and by the latter boundary-line and the production thereof to the middle of the Waipaoa River; and thence by a line along the middle of that river to the confluence of the Waikaahu Stream with the said Waipaoa River; towards the south and south-west generally by the last-named stream and the Waikakariki Stream to the north-eastern corner of the Okahuatiu No. 2 Block; thence by that block to the Wharekopae Stream; thence by that stream to the Wharekopae No. 1 Block; thence by that block, the Wharekopae No. 2 Block, and the Wharekopae Block to Maungatapere; thence by Whakatane County to the westernmost angle of the Motu Block; and thence towards the north-west by the said Whakatane County to the place of commencement.

SPECIAL ORDER.

THAT it be a special order of this Board that the Purimu Creek, from the Waverley Road, at the bridge, through Sections 36, 35, 37, and 38, Meanee, to where it intersects the County Road drain, opposite the culvert across the County Road, with the deviations now being constructed through Jervoiston and Mr. Laird’s property, be taken over and maintained as a public drain.

I hereby declare that the above special order was duly made and confirmed according to law.

THE following special order, made by the Waimata Road Board, is published in accordance with “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

WAIMATA ROAD DISTRICT BOARD.

NOTICE is hereby given that, at a special meeting of the above Board, held on Saturday, the 2nd May, 1891, the following resolution was duly passed by special order :—

That a special rate of 3½d. in the pound be made upon all rateable property within the special rating district comprised in the following sections: Grazing Runs Nos. 44, 58, 59, and 60, and Sections Nos. 19 and 24, being a part of the Waimata Road District, the said rate being for the period of twenty-six years, commencing on the 1st day of April, 1891, and ending the 31st day of March, 1917, and to be set apart for the purpose of providing interest upon the sum of £700, to be obtained in the terms of “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” to carry out the particular public works set forth in the proposal agreed to by a resolution of the ratepayers of the said special district, at a poll taken on the 7th day of March, 1891. The rate so struck shall be a recurring rate, due and payable in two
