Wards in Borough of Wanganui abolished.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section thirty-one of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886,” it is provided that, if not less than one-half of the burgesses of each ward of a divided borough petition the Governor to abolish such wards, the Governor may, by Proclamation, declare such wards to be abolished, and such borough shall thereafter be deemed to be an undivided borough: And whereas not less than one-half of the burgesses of each ward of the divided Borough of Wanganui have petitioned me to abolish such wards:

Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the hereinbefore-recited authority, do hereby proclaim and declare the wards of the Borough of Wanganui to be abolished, and that such borough shall hereafter be deemed to be an undivided borough.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop; Viscount Cranley, of Cranley in the County of Surrey; Baron Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop, and of West Clandon in the County of Surrey; Baron Cranley, of Imbercourt; Baronet; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at Auckland, this twenty-eighth day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one.

Land temporarily reserved in the Land Districts of Auckland, Hawke’s Bay, Wellington, and Canterbury.

ONSLOW, Governor.

WHEREAS by the two hundred and twenty-seventh section of “The Land Act, 1885,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Land Districts of Auckland, Hawke’s Bay, Wellington, and Canterbury, described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in the said Schedule specified.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND.

ALL that parcel of land in the Land District of Auckland, being Section No. 81 of the Suburbs of Tuakau, and containing by admeasurement 5 acres 3 roods 12 perches, more or less. Bounded towards the north-east by Section No. 84 of the Suburbs of Tuakau and a public road, 669 links; towards the south-east by Section No. 21 of the Suburbs of Tuakau, 870 links; towards the south-west by a public road, 669 links; and towards the north-west by Section No. 82 of the Suburbs of Tuakau aforesaid, 870 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a quarry.

HAWKE’S BAY.

All that parcel of land in the Land District of Hawke’s Bay, containing by admeasurement 1 rood, more or less, being Section No. 18, Township of Hastings. Bounded towards the north-east by Avenue Road, 100 links; towards the south-east by Sections Nos. 17, 15, and 16, 250 links; towards the south-west by Section No. 12, 100 links; and towards the north-west by Section No. 19, 250 links. For a Courthouse site.

All that parcel of land in the Land District of Hawke’s Bay, containing by admeasurement 1 rood, more or less, being Section No. 13, Block VI., Kumeroa Village, Tahoraite Survey District. Bounded on the north by Section No. 4, 100 links; on the east by Section No. 11, 250 links; on the south by a public road, 100 links; and on the west by Section No. 10, 250 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Napier. For a public library and reading-room reserve.

WELLINGTON.

All that parcel of land in the Land District of Wellington, containing by admeasurement 4 acres, more or less, being Suburban Section No. 23 in the Township of Ballance. Bounded on the north-east by a public road; on the south-east by a public road; on the south-west by Suburban Section No. 25; and on the north-west by Suburban Section No. 22: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Wellington. For a school-site.

All that parcel of land in the Land District of Wellington, containing by admeasurement 2 acres, more or less, being Sections Nos. 101 and 103 in the Township of Ballance. Bounded on the north-east by a street; on the south-east by Sections Nos. 102 and 104; on the south-west by Section
