THE following special order, made by the Fitzherbert Road Board, is published in accordance with “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

SPECIAL ORDER made by the Fitzherbert Road Board, at a Meeting held on Monday, the 9th March, 1891.
THAT a special rate of 1½d. in the pound be made on the value of the following properties: Sections 64, 59, 60, 61, Allotments 1 and 2 of Section 58, Block XIV., Kairanga Survey District, and Allotments 1 to 14 of Section 17, Block II., Arawaru Survey District, together with the whole of the allotments in the Township of Whitmore from 1 to 114, included in Sections 62, 63, Block XIV., Kairanga Survey District, for the purpose of paying interest and other charges on a loan of £350, borrowed under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for the construction of the Whitmore Road; such rate to be annually recurring for twenty-six years, and payable at the Board’s Office, Palmers-ton North, in two instalments, viz., on the 1st February and the 1st August in each year.
I hereby certify that the foregoing special order has been duly made by the Fitzherbert Road Board, as required by “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

SPECIAL ORDER made by the Carrington Road Board, at a Special Meeting held on the 3rd day of March, 1891.
THAT a special rate of 1d. in the pound be hereby made on all those pieces or parcels of land in the Carrington Road District, Paritutu Survey District, Taranaki, containing together by admeasurement 170 acres and 33 perches, more or less, being the sections numbered as follows: Section 34, Fitzroy District, 50 acres 1 rood 3 perches; Section 48, Fitzroy District, 50 acres 1 rood 3 perches; part Section 33, Subdivision D, Fitzroy District, 24 acres 3 roods 29 perches; part Section 47, Subdivision D, Fitzroy District, 10 acres and 18 perches; part Section 47, Subdivision C, Fitzroy District, 15 acres and 1 perch; part Section 17, Grey District, 1 acre and 15 perches; part Section 61, Grey District, 18 acres 2 roods 4 perches: total, 170 acres and 33 perches—bounded towards the north by Holdsworthy Road; towards the east by Sections 35 and 49; towards the south by a road; again towards the east by Brooklands Road; towards the south-west by Carrington Road; again towards the north by part Section 47; and towards the west by Subdivision A, or the western moiety of Sections 33 and 47—for the purpose of paying interest on a loan of £125 borrowed under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886;” such rate to be annually recurring for twenty-six years, and payable at the Board’s Office, in one sum, on the 1st day of April in each year, commencing on the 1st day of April, 1891.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Wairarapa North County Council, is published in accordance with “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886.”

WAIRARAPA NORTH COUNTY.
RESULT of polls taken at Alfredton, on the 14th day of March, 1891, on proposals to raise loans of £1,865 and £635 respectively for metalling on the Eketahuna to Tinui Road:—
Loan of £1,865.
Number of ratepayers on special roll 20, representing 43 votes; number of ratepayers who voted in favour of the proposal 15, representing 30 votes; number of ratepayers who voted against the proposal, nil.
As a majority in number of the ratepayers voted in favour of the proposal, and the number so voting are entitled to more than one-half in number of the votes which can be exercised by the whole number of ratepayers, I declare the above proposal to be carried.
Loan of £635.
Number of ratepayers on special roll 24, representing 29 votes; number of ratepayers who voted in favour of the proposal 18, representing 21 votes; number of ratepayers who voted against the proposal, nil.
As a majority in number of the ratepayers voted in favour of the proposal, and the number so voting are entitled to more than one-half in number of the votes which can be exercised by the whole number of ratepayers, I declare the above proposal to be carried.

RESULT of poll in respect of borrowing £1,000, under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” to acquire and lay off a road up the Ruakokopotuna River, in the Haurangi-Waipawa Survey District, Featherston Road District:—
Number of voters on roll of special rating, exercising one vote, 7; number of voters in favour of loan, 5; number of votes not recorded, 2.
More than half the voters on roll, representing more than half the exercisable votes, having voted in favour of the proposal, I declare it carried.
