Notice of Proposed Addition to the Borough of the City of Christchurch.

Wellington, 12th February, 1890.
A PETITION having been presented to His Excellency the Governor praying that the district described in the Schedule hereto, being part of the Avon Road District, might be incorporated into the Borough of the City of Christchurch, His Excellency the Governor directs it to be notified that, unless within two months from the publication hereof a petition or petitions as required by sections 32 or 34 of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886," is or are presented to His Excellency, he will proceed to incorporate the said district into the said Borough of the City of Christchurch, and constitute the same a separate ward of the said borough by the name of the Richmond Ward.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Provincial District of Canterbury being original Sections Nos. 33 and 41 and part of 197, situated in Block XI., Christchurch Survey District. Bounded towards the west and north by the North Avon Road, from the north-eastern corner of the City of Christchurch, as described in the First Schedule to "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1867," to Section No. 197 aforesaid; thence by a road intersecting that section to the road which forms the north-western boundary of a subdivision of Section No. 197 aforesaid, containing 5 acres 2 roods; thence towards the north-west by the latter road to a subdivision of Section No. 197 aforesaid, containing 3 acres and 35 perches; thence again towards the north by the latter subdivision and its southern boundary-line produced to the River Avon; thence towards the east and south-east and south by the said River Avon; and again towards the west by the City of Christchurch aforesaid.

Special Orders made by the Waipawa County Council.—Declaring certain Roads to be County Roads and District Roads.

SPECIAL ORDER made by the Waipawa County Council, on the 7th day of February, 1890, under the provisions of section 31 of "The Public Works Act, 1882," and section 26 of "The Public Works Acts Amendment Act, 1887," declaring,—
That, on and after the date hereof, the district roads described in the Schedules hereto shall become county roads:—
First Schedule.—Ruataniniwa Riding.
All that road, situate in Blocks 14, 13, 72, 80, 10, 70, 8, and 7, Waipukurau Survey District, County of Waipawa, commencing at a point on the Napier-Waipukurau main road about 2 chains from the right bank of the Waipawa River, and terminating at a point being the intersection of the said road with the public road to Ongaonga at about 4 chains north-east of the Waipawamate Bridge, and including the approach to the southern end of the new Waipawa traffic-bridge.
Second Schedule.—Woodville Riding.
All that portion of a public road, 150 links wide, commencing at a point on the public road forming the northern boundary of the Village of Kumeroa; thence passing between Blocks 2, 3, 5, 7, and 8, Kumeroa Village, in a southerly direction for a distance of 38½ chains or thereabout to a point being the intersection of said road with the public road on the northern boundary of Section 11, Block XIII., Tahoraita Survey District, County of Waipawa.
I certify that the above is a true copy of a special order which was duly made by the Waipawa County Council, at special meetings held on the 7th January and the 7th February, 1890.

That, on and after the date hereof, the part of a county road hereinafter described shall become a district road:—

All that portion of the county road in the Ruataniniwa Riding commencing at a point about 4 chains north-east of the Waipawamate Bridge, at the intersection of the roads in Block 7, Waipukurau Survey District; thence in a north-easterly direction to the Waipawa River, County of Waipawa.
I certify that the above is a true copy of a special order which was duly made by the Waipawa County Council, at special meetings held on the 7th January and the 7th February, 1890.
