ALFREDTON ROAD DISTRICT.
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR A PUBLIC ROAD.
IT is hereby notified that the Alfredton Road Board, under
the provisions of "The Public Works Act, 1882," and
its amendments, intend to take 8 acres and 33 poles, out of
Section 137, Block X., Puketoi Survey District, for the pur-
pose of constructing a road 66ft. wide. A plan of the road
and the lands so required to be taken is deposited at the
office of the Alfredton Road Board, Alfredton, and is
there open for inspection on Tuesdays, from 10 a.m.
to 4 p.m. And notice is hereby given that all persons
affected by the taking of such lands or by the execution of
the said public work shall, if they have any well-grounded
objections to the execution of the said work or to the taking
of such lands, set forth the same in writing, and send such
writing, within forty days from the first publication of this
notice, to the Chairman of the Alfredton Road Board,
Alfredton.

NOTICE is hereby given that, under "The Foreign Com-
panies Act, 1884," the North Queensland Insurance
Company (Limited), being a company incorporated within
the Colony of New South Wales, intend to carry on the
business of insurers of marine risks in Napier, in the Colony
of New Zealand; and that the offices where such business
is intended to be carried on, and where notices may be sent,
communications made, and legal proceedings served, are
situated in Shakespeare Road, in the said Town of Napier.

In the matter of "The Public Works Act, 1882," and the
amending Acts thereof, and in the matter of the taking by
the Cambridge Road Board of certain lands in the Cam-
bridge Road District, in the County of Waikato, in the
Provincial District of Auckland, for use as roads.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is the intention of the
Cambridge Road Board to take certain lands in the
Provincial District of Auckland, hereinafter more particu-
larly described, for the purpose of constructing roads; and
all persons affected are hereby called upon to set forth in
writing any well-grounded objections to the execution of
such work or to the taking of such lands, and to send such
writing, within forty days from the publication hereof, to the
said Cambridge Road Board, at Cambridge, in the Provincial
District of Auckland aforesaid.
And notice is hereby further given that the plans of the
said lands are open for inspection at Mr. Neal Dougherty's
residence, at Cambridge aforesaid, and the following is the
description of the said lands: All that parcel of land con-
taining by admeasurement 3 acres 3 roods 29 perches, being
portions of Sections Nos. 278, 279, and 280, and 3 acres 4
perches, being portion of Section No. 277; all the above-
mentioned being in Block V., Cambridge District, and being
land required for road-lines to run through the said sections;
the property of Neal Dougherty, of Cambridge, Farmer.
Dated at Cambridge aforesaid, this 23th day of January,

SUBSCRIPTIONS.—The subscription is at the rate of 30s.
per annum, PAYABLE IN ADVANCE. A less period than
three months cannot be subscribed for.
Single copies of the Gazette, 6d. each.
Advertisements are charged at the uniform rate of 6d. per
line for each insertion.
For half-yearly statements under the Mining Act the
charge is 2s.
All advertisements should be written on one side of the
paper, and signatures, &c., should be written in a legible
hand.
The number of insertions required must be written across
the face of the advertisement.
The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday even-
ing in each week, and notices for insertion must be received
by the Government Printer before two o'clock of the day
preceding publication.
Communications should be addressed to the Government
Printer, Wellington, to whom post office money orders should
be made payable.
Postage or duty stamps cannot be received in payment
from any place at which postal notes or post office orders are
issued.
Booksellers and Advertising Agents will be allowed a com-
mission at the rate of 5 per cent.
NO ADVERTISEMENT WILL BE INSERTED WITHOUT PREPAY-
MENT BEING MADE.
