Waitahhia, in the District of Poverty Bay, in the Provincial District of Auckland, known by the name of Pouturu Block, containing 1,480 acres, more or less;

And also claiming to have acquired or purchased the interests of Mere Waimanuku, Kerana te Owai, Ropihana Huatin, Erana Rauhaere, Te Honiana Auriri, Mere Whariki, Ruira Wharekohu, Mero Ariha Tawhara, Natama Maukau, Piripi to Awarau, Te Hemara Moana, Ileni Nohoaka, Renata Apawai, Hori Tutere, Ripi Taweka, Mokena Harua, Perenata Kaiwi, Mere Ruawahine, Ruira Kahawai, Raana Pakau, Wi Pahan, Wiremu te Owai, Eruera Ariari, Heni te Aomihia, Renata Hape, Kercama Kaipara Apirana Tatua, Peti Poihakena, Ihamiora Ngarimu, and Uimiona te Moana, in that piece of land at Waiapu, in the District of Poverty Bay, in the Provincial District of Auckland, known as the Packawa Block, containing 3,068 acres, more or less,—

Have on the 17th day of October, 1890, left at the office, in the Government Buildings at the City of Wellington, of the Registrar of the Native Land Court for the District of Wellington, the place appointed in that behalf by the Commissioners appointed under section 20 of the above-mentioned Act, an application, in each of the above blocks, pursuant to the said Act and to the rules made by the said Commissioners thereunder, that the said Commissioners shall inquire into all the circumstances attending the said alleged alienations or acquisitions of the said interests in the said lands respectively.

And notice is hereby further given that certified copies of such applications respectively, and of every instrument in writing, order of the Native Land Court, and other document upon which we rely in support of the said claims respectively, have been deposited by us with the Clerk of the Resident Magistrate’s Court at Awanui, where the same are open for public inspection without payment of any fee.

And notice is hereby further given that every person desiring to be heard in opposition to our said claims, or to any of them, is required to file and serve notice of such opposition, and of the grounds thereof, fourteen days at least before the day which shall be appointed for hearing our said claims respectively, and in the form and in manner prescribed by the rules made by the said Commissioners.

And notice is hereby further given that our address for service is at the office of Hugh Joseph Finn, situate in the Union Bank Buildings, Gladstone Road, in the Town of Gisborne.

NOTICE is hereby given that I, EDWIN BARNES WALKER, of Mona Vale, Cambridge, in the District of Waikato, New Zealand, Settler, claiming to have purchased or acquired the interests of Wiremu te Whitu Harete Tamihana and Tureremai Maraeoriki in the parcel of land situate at Maungatautari, in the District of Waikato aforesaid, called or known as the Pukekura Block, containing 8,395 acres or thereabout, have, on the 17th day of September, 1890, left at the office, in the Government Buildings, at the City of Wellington, of the Registrar of the Native Land Court for the District of Wellington, the place appointed in that behalf by the Commissioners appointed under section 20 of the above-mentioned Act, an application, pursuant to the said Act and to the rules made by the said Commissioners thereunder, that the said Commissioners shall inquire into all the circumstances attending the said alleged alienation or acquisition of the said interests in the said land.

SUBSCRIPTIONS.—The subscription is at the rate of 30s. per annum, PAYABLE IN ADVANCE. A less period than three months cannot be subscribed for.

Single copies of the Gazette, 6d. each.

Advertisements are charged at the uniform rate of 6d. per line for each insertion.

For half-yearly statements under the Mining Act the charge is 23s.

All advertisements should be written on one side of the paper, and signatures, &c., should be written in a legible hand. The number of insertions required must be written across the face of the advertisement.

The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday evening in each week, and notices for insertion must be received by the Government Printer before two o’clock of the day preceding publication.
