Description of Land: Rather broken forest land, clay soil. The bush contains a few kauri and totara trees.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop; Viscount Cranley, of Cranley in the County of Surrey; Baron Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop, and of West Clandon in the County of Surrey; Baron Cranley, of Imbercourt; Baronet; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at Christchurch, this eleventh day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety.

Rural Lands in the Auckland Land District open for Sale or Selection.

ONSLLOW, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the third section of “The Land Act Amendment Act, 1887” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection, after the lapse of a period of not less than forty-five days from the date of the first public notification hereof, in the manner and upon the conditions mentioned in the said Act, and at the price per acre stated in the said Schedule.

Description of Land: Nearly all raupo swamp, with a little dry land along the river-bank. Section 47, about 20 acres manuka and toitoi, fairly dry, rest raupo swamp; 52 and 53, raupo swamp, flax and wiwi; 48 to 53 will all drain into the Orini River.
