RACE G.

All that area, 25 links in width, situated in Spaxton Sur-
vey District, County of Ashburton, commencing at Arterial
Race E (E), hereinafter described, in Section 30818, and
proceeding in a generally south-easterly direction, intersect-
ing the said Section 30818 and the Alford Forest Road to
Section 31194. Also, all that area, 25 links in width, situated
in the Spaxton Survey District, County of Ashburton, com-
mencing in Section 30345, at its north-eastern boundary, and
proceeding in south-westerly and south-easterly directions,
intersecting the said Section 30345, a road, and Sections
30152, 27851, 27828, and 27888, to Arterial Race C (c), herein-
before described, in the said Section 27888.

RACE K.

All that area, 25 links in width, situated in Ashburton and
Wakanui Survey Districts, County of Ashburton, commencing
at Wakanui Creek, in Section 5800, Ashburton Survey
District, and proceeding in a generally southerly direction,
intersecting the said Section 5800, Reserve 1120, Sections
12758, 12918, and 10380, Reserve 1119, a road, Section 6855,
a road, Sections 10493, 7714, 7871, 7872, 14494, 7900, 10413,
and 15691, a road, Sections 14942, 14642, 5593, and 16888, a
road, Section 16887, a road, Section 4920, a road, Sections
7185, 4921, 14706, 7187, 7796, 7800, 7188, 17166, 8241, 14410,
7189, 14172, and 7190, a road, Sections 14173, 14582, 16276,
7191, 15051, 15052, and 15070, a road, Sections 15071 and
17909, Reserve 739, Sections 17666, 18817, 20994, 24126, and
24125, a road, Sections 30535, 25585, to the southern boun-
dary-line of the said Section 25585, Wakanui Survey District.

RACE K (1).

All that area, 25 links in width, situated in Wakanui
Survey District, County of Ashburton, commencing at Race
K, hereinafter described, in Section 18817, and proceeding
in a generally southerly direction, intersecting the said Sec-
tion 18817, a road, and Sections 18247, 17113, and 17111, to
the eastern boundary-line of the said Section 17111.

RACE K (2).

All that area, 25 links in width, situated at Wakanui
Survey District, County of Ashburton, commencing at Race
K (1), hereinafter described, in Section 18247, and proceed-
ing in a south-easterly direction, intersecting the said Section
18247 and Section 17113, to the eastern boundary-line of
said Section 17113.

RACE K (3).

All that area, 25 links in width, situated in Wakanui
Survey District, County of Ashburton, commencing at Race
K, hereinafter described, in Reserve 739, and proceeding in
a south-easterly direction, intersecting the said Reserve 739,
Section 22617, a road, and Section 24273, to the southern
boundary of said Section 24273.

RACE K (4).

All that area, 25 links in width, situated in the Wakanui
Survey District, County of Ashburton, commencing at Race
K, hereinafter described, in Section 15070, and proceeding
in a generally south-easterly direction, intersecting the said
Section 15070, a road, Sections 15725, 17239, 17057, 17274,
and 18248, a road, and Section 20747, to a point at or near
the northern boundary of the said Section 20747.

RACE K (5).

All that area, 25 links in width, situated in the Wakanui
Survey District, County of Ashburton, commencing at Race
K, hereinafter described, in Section 7185, and proceeding in
a generally south-easterly direction, intersecting the said
Section 7185, and Sections 4921, 14706, 7797, 14980, 14411,
and 14690, a road, Section 15066, Reserve 1419, Sections
19941, 19942, 15068,15105, and 15069, Reserve 1421, Sections
17273, 19452, 23127, 18969, 20353, 19939, and 31095, a road,
and Sections 20579 and 23567, to the eastern boundary of the
said Section 23567.

RACE K (6).

All that area, 25 links in width, situated in the Wakanui
Survey District, County of Ashburton, commencing at Race
K (5), hereinafter described, in Section 14706, and proceed-
ing in a generally south-easterly direction, intersecting a
road, Sections 14706 (aforesaid), 14980, 14984, and 14983, a
road, Sections 15066, 17270, 16784, 17110, 17272, 17130,
17271, and 24347, and a road to Race K (5) aforesaid, in
Section 31095.

RACE K (7).

All that area, 25 links in width, situated in the Wakanui
Survey District, County of Ashburton, commencing at Race
K (6), hereinafter described, in Section 14706, and proceed-
ing in a south-easterly direction, intersecting the said Section
14706, and Sections 14862 and 14869, a road, Section 14857,
a road, Sections 14857 (aforesaid) and 21585, a road, Sections
14860, 4844, and 27955, to the eastern boundary of the said
Section 27955.

RACE K (8).

All that area, 25 links in width, situated in the Wakanui
Survey District, County of Ashburton, commencing at Race
K, hereinafter described, in Section 10413, and proceeding
in a south-easterly direction, intersecting the said Section
10413, a road, Section 15690, a road, and Sections 4923,
5594, 4919, and 16887, to Race K aforesaid, at or near the
south-eastern boundary of the said Section 16887.

RACE K (9).

All that area, 25 links in width, situated in the Ashburton
and Wakanui Survey Districts, County of Ashburton, com-
mencing at Race K, hereinafter described, in Section 10380,
Ashburton Survey District, and proceeding in a south-
easterly direction, intersecting Reserve 1119, Section 10350,
a road, Reserve 1118, Section 18686, a road, and Sections
20605, 16376, 20607, 19243, 20606, and 20608, Wakanui
Survey District, to the southern boundary of the said Section
20608.

RACE K (10).

All that area, 25 links in width, situated in the Ashburton
and Wakanui Survey Districts, County of Ashburton, com-
mencing at Race K, hereinafter described, in Section 10380,
Ashburton Survey District, and proceeding in a generally
south-easterly direction, intersecting the said Section 10380
and Sections 13705, 14370, and 16882, a road, Sections 18039,
18038, and 18686, a road, and Sections 17944, 18707, 20604,
and 20965, Wakanui Survey District, to the southern
boundary of the said Section 20965.

RACE K (11).

All that area, 25 links in width, situated in the Wakanui
Survey District, County of Ashburton, commencing at Race
K (7), hereinafter described, in Section 23303, and proceed-
ing in a south-westerly direction across a road to the south-
eastern corner of Section 14861; thence along the south-
eastern boundary-line of the said Section 14861 for a distance
of about 20 chains; thence in a south-easterly direction at
right angles to the south-eastern boundary-line of Section
14861 aforesaid, intersecting Section 14743, to the south-
eastern boundary-line of the last-mentioned section; and
thence in a north-easterly direction along the south-eastern
boundary-line of the said Section 14743 for a distance of
about 425 links.

the Seal of the said Colony, at Christchurch, this
nineteenth day of September, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the two hundred and sixty-seventh sec-
tion of "The Counties Act, 1886," and at the request of the
Ashburton County Council, I, William Hillier, Earl of
Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do
hereby proclaim and declare the lands described in the Sche-
dule hereto to be water-races, as defined by the two hundred
and sixty-sixth section of the said Act, to be known by the
name of "The Ashburton-Rangitata Water-races;" and,
further, that the River Ashburton, in the County of Ashbur-
ton, with its tributaries and affluents, and the River Hinds
with its tributaries, shall be streams which may be taken for
the purpose of supplying the said water-races.

SCHEDULE.

ARTERIAL RACE H (H).

ALL that area, 50 links in width, situated in the Westerfield
Survey District, County of Ashburton, commencing at the
easternmost corner of Section 20828, and proceeding in a
south-easterly direction, intersecting Reserve 2378, Reserve
2275, the Upper Ashburton Railway-line, Reserve 2378
aforesaid, a road, the Southern Trunk Railway-line, the
Main South Road, and Section 17076, to a point about 8
chains distant north-easterly from the north-western corner
of the said Section 17076,
