Chairman of Clyde Town Board, County of Wairoa, appointed.
ONSLLOW, Governor.
WHEREAS the resignation by Thomas Parker of his office as Chairman of the Clyde Town Board was accepted at a meeting of the said Board held on the twenty-eighth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and ninety: And whereas the said Board, at its next meeting, failed to elect some other member of the Board to be the Chairman thereof until the expiration of the term of office of such member as a Commissioner, and it is expedient that a Chairman of the said Board should be appointed by the Governor, as provided in “The Town Districts Act, 1881.”
Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers vested in me by the said “Town Districts Act, 1881,” do hereby appoint
GEORGE BRIDGER FLINT
to be the Chairman of the Clyde Town Board until the expiration of his term of office as a member of the Board of Commissioners of the said Clyde Town Board.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this first day of September, one thousand eight hundred and ninety.

THAT a special rate of 3d. in the pound be levied on Sections 17 to 20, 29, 30, Block XI., Sections 210 to 213, 215, Block XII., Mangaone, for the repayment of a loan of £50 for formation on Pah Valley Road South; said rate to be an annually-recurring rate for twenty-six years, or until loan is repaid, to be paid in one sum on the 1st June each year; first payment to be made on the 1st June, 1891.
I certify that the above special order was duly passed.

MORETON BAY.—FLOATING BEACON AT ENTRANCE TO NORTH OR HOWE CHANNEL REPLACED.
THE floating beacon has now been placed in the position of the fairway buoy which recently marked the entrance to the North or Howe Channel; and the fairway buoy, with staff and flag on it, has been moved to the position of the buoy which marked the western end of the East Bank; and the buoy which marked the latter has been taken away.
The floating beacon is provided with a mast and black circular cage, the centre of the cage being about 22ft. above the water.
The beacon is also provided with a bell.
