Altering Boundaries of Resident Magistrate’s District of Taranaki.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by “The Resident Magistrates Act, 1867,”
it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor
from time to time, by Proclamation in the New Zealand Gazette, to constitute throughout the colony, or in any part
thereof, districts to be called Resident Magistrates’ districts,
and such districts from time to time to abolish, and the
boundaries to define and alter, and in any such Proclama-
tion to fix a time on and from which any such district shall
be constituted or abolished, as the case may be :
And whereas by Proclamation bearing date the tenth day
of July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety, His Excel-
lency the Governor, in pursuance and exercise of the
powers and authorities so vested in him, did define the
boundaries of the Resident Magistrate’s District of Taranaki,
as described in the said Proclamation :
And whereas it is expedient to alter the boundaries of the
said district so defined as aforesaid :
Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and
exercise of the powers and authorities so vested in me as
aforesaid, do hereby alter the boundaries of the said District
of Taranaki, and define them as described in the Schedule
hereto, as and from the first day of September next.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Provincial Districts of Taranaki and
Wellington bounded towards the north-east generally by
Kawhia County from the mouth of the Mokau River to
Mount Rangitoto; thence towards the east generally by a
right line to the source of the Ongaruhe River; thence by
that river and the Wanganui River to the confluence of the
Tangarakau River with the said Wanganui River; thence by
a right line in the direction of the eastern corner of the
Mangaotuku Block as far as the summit of the western
watershed of the Wanganui River; thence by lines from hill
to hill along the summit of the said watershed by Matai-
moana, Taumatarata, Taurangapiopio to Paparangiora;
thence by a ridge separating the watersheds of the Wai-
totara River and Kai-iwi Stream to Tutukaikatoa; thence
by a ridge and the summit of the Rangitatau Range to the
nearest point to Aramaire Trig. Station; thence by a right
line to the north-eastern corner of the Auroa Native Reserve;
thence by the northern boundary of the Waitotara Block to
the Waitotara River; and thence by a line along the middle
of that river to the ocean; and towards the south-west and
west generally by the ocean to the place of commencement.

Birkenhead Borough Council to elect a Member of Auckland Harbour Board.
ONSWLOW, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this fifth day
of August, 1890.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS it is enacted by section forty-six of “The
Harbours Act, 1878” (hereinafter termed “the said
Act”), that if at any time it shall be made to appear to the
Governor that a local governing body or association electing
or appointing a member or members of a Harbour Board has
ceased to exist, or has been incorporated with or united to
some other local governing body or association, the Governor
may, by Order in Council, declare what other local governing
body or association shall return a member in lieu of the body
or association so ceasing to exist or being incorporated or
united as aforesaid :
And whereas it is provided by “The Auckland Harbour
Board Act, 1885,” that one member of the Auckland Harbour
Board shall be elected by the Northcote and Birkenhead
Road Boards sitting together and acting as one Board at a
meeting to be called by the Chairman of the Northcote Road
Board :
And whereas the Birkenhead Road Board having ceased to
exist, an Order in Council was made on the fifteenth day of
January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine, and
published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 3, of the
seventeenth day of the same month, providing that the
Borough Council of the Borough of Birkenhead should join
with the Northcote Road Board in electing a member of the
Auckland Harbour Board :
And whereas it has been made to appear to me that the
Northcote Road Board has ceased to exist :
Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and
exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by
the said Act, and by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby declare that
the Borough Council of the Borough of Birkenhead shall
elect a member of the Auckland Harbour Board in lieu of
the two Road Boards so ceasing to exist as aforesaid.

Vesting a Reserve in the Waitoa Road Board.
ONSWLOW, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this fifth day
of August, 1890.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto
was reserved for a gravel-pit: And whereas, in the
opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to vest the said land
in the Waitoa Road Board :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the
powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section of
“The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” doth hereby declare that,
from and after the day of the date hereof, the said reserve
shall become vested in the Waitoa Road Board, in trust, for
a gravel-pit.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that piece or parcel of land called or known as Sections
Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 13, 14, 15, and 16 of Block XV., Town of Te
Aroha, situate in Block IX., Te Aroha Survey District, Land
District of Auckland, and containing by admeasurement
2 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the north-east by
a public road-line, 500 links; towards the south-east by
Sections Nos. 5 and 12 of Block XV. aforesaid, 400 links;
towards the south-west by a public road-line, 500 links; and
towards the north-west by a public road-line, 400 links: be
all the aforesaid linkages more or less.
