A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act 1882 Amendment Act, 1885,” for the construction of a public work within the meaning of the said Act: And whereas all notices and acts required by law to be given and done have been duly given and performed, and the Minister for Public Works has laid before the Governor a memorial containing a list of the lands proposed to be taken as aforesaid, together with a map showing accurately the position and extent thereof, as required by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and the Acts amending the same:

Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and “The Public Works Act 1882 Amendment Act, 1885,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the construction of a public work within the meaning of “The Public Works Act 1882 Amendment Act, 1885,” namely, construction of works for purposes of defence at Harrington Point, in Native Reserve, Taiaroa Heads, Port Chalmers.

SCHEDULE.

THE parcel of land mentioned hereunder:—

Approximate Area of the Parcel of Land required to be taken. Being Portion of Sections Nos. Situated in the Survey District of
A. R. P. 5 0 0 49, No. 16 A2, and 48, No. 15 A2 Otago Peninsula.

In the Provincial District of Otago; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 16538, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop; Viscount Cranley, of Cranley in the County of Surrey; Baron Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop, and of West Clandon in the County of Surrey; Baron Cranley, of Imbercourt; Baronet; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this eighth day of July, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety.

Proclaiming the Taking and Laying-off of a Road over Land in the Auckland Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and in exercise of all powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim that the road described in the Schedule hereto has been duly taken and laid off through the land specified under warrant of the date given in the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 4 acres 3 roods, more or less, situate in Block XII., Waihou Survey District, being a road, 100 links wide and upwards, traversing the northern portion of the Waihou West No. 1B Block (3695B), the southern side of which commences at a point on the north-western boundary-line of the Waihou West No. 1B Block, at a distance of 3684 links or thereabouts from its north-western angle; and thence proceeds easterly for a distance of about 4035·7 links to the Waihou River: as the same is delineated on Map No. 5449, deposited in the Survey Office at Auckland.

Date of Governor’s warrant, 10th July, 1889.
