In the matter of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and the amending Acts thereof, and in the matter of the taking by the Waikato County Council of certain lands in the Parish of Whangamarino, in the Rangiriri Outlying District, in the County of Waikato, in the Provincial District of Auckland, for use as a road.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is the intention of the Waikato County Council to take certain lands in the Provincial District of Auckland, hereinafter more particularly described, for the purpose of constructing a road; and all persons affected are hereby called upon to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the execution of such work or to the taking of such lands, and to send such writing, within forty days from the publication hereof, to the said Waikato County Council, in the Provincial District aforesaid. And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the said lands is open for inspection, at reasonable hours, at the Post Office, Waerenga, in the Parish of Whangamarino aforesaid, and the following is the description of the said lands:—

  1. All that parcel of land in Section No. 191, Parish of Whangamarino, commencing at the south-western corner of the said Section No. 191, and running along the south-eastern boundary thereof for a distance of 3194·5 links, 1 chain wide, and containing by admeasurement 3 acres and 1 rood, more or less; coloured pink on the said plan:

  2. All that portion of land contained in Section No. 1, Parish of Whangamarino aforesaid, commencing at the north-eastern end of the before-described land, and running generally easterly through the said Section No. 1 to the eastern boundary of the same, 1 chain wide, and containing by admeasurement 4 acres 2 roods 10·7 perches, more or less; coloured pink on the said plan:

  3. All that portion of land in Section No. 7, in the Parish aforesaid, commencing at the south-east boundary of the same, and running along the north-east boundary 1235 links; thence along the north-west boundary, 384 links; thence diagonally across the said Section No. 7 in a westerly direction to the north-east boundary of Section No. 5; and containing by admeasurement 3 acres 2 roods 15 perches, more or less:

Being land required for a road-line through the aforesaid sections. The property respectively of George Reed, of Whangamarino, Farmer; George Hill, jun., and John Rowland Hill, Farmers, of Matahura; and Charles Alexander, Sharebroker, as Trustee or Agent in the estate of the late Thomas Beckham.

IN THE MATTER OF THE KAIHU VALLEY RAILWAY COMPANY (LIMITED).

AT an extraordinary general meeting of the members of the above-named company, duly convened and held at the office of the company, Little Queen Street, Auckland, on the 27th day of May, 1890, the following extraordinary resolution was duly passed:—

“That it has been proved to the satisfaction of this meeting that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily.”

And at the same meeting ROBERT CLAPHAM BARSTOW, of Auckland, was appointed Liquidator for the purposes of such winding-up.

The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday evening in each week, and notices for insertion must be received by the Government Printer before two o’clock of the day preceding publication.

Communications should be addressed to the Government Printer, Wellington, to whom post office money orders should be made payable.

Postage or duty stamps cannot be received in payment from any place at which postal notes or post office orders are issued.

Booksellers and Advertising Agents will be allowed a commission at the rate of 5 per cent.

NO ADVERTISEMENT WILL BE INSERTED WITHOUT PREPAYMENT BEING MADE.
