Boundaries of the Borough of the City of Christchurch extended.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power vested in me by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886,” I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the district the boundaries whereof are described in the First Schedule hereto is hereby incorporated into the Borough of the City of Christchurch, and constituted a separate ward of the said borough, by the name of the Richmond Ward; and I do further proclaim and declare that the boundaries of the Richmond Ward of the said borough shall be those described in the said First Schedule hereto, and the boundaries of the said borough shall be those described in the Second Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
LAND PROPOSED TO BE INCORPORATED INTO THE CITY OF CHRISTCHURCH, AND TO FORM A SEPARATE WARD THEREOF, TO BE CALLED RICHMOND WARD.
ALL that area in the Provincial District of Canterbury, being original Sections Nos. 33 and 41, and part of 197, situated in Block XI., Christchurch Survey District. Bounded towards the west and north by the North Avon Road, from the north-eastern corner of the City of Christchurch, as described in the First Schedule to “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1867,” to Section No. 197 aforesaid; thence by a road intersecting that section to the road which forms the north-western boundary of a subdivision of Section No. 197 aforesaid, containing 5 acres 2 roods; thence towards the north-west by the latter road to a subdivision of Section No. 197 aforesaid, containing 3 acres and 35 perches; thence again towards the north by the latter subdivision and its southern boundary-line produced to the River Avon; thence towards the east and south-east and south by the said River Avon; and again towards the west by the City of Christchurch aforesaid.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
CITY OF CHRISTCHURCH (AMENDED BOUNDARIES).
ALL that area in the Provincial District of Canterbury bounded towards the north by original Sections Nos. 6, 46, 206, 257, 243B, 263, 286, and 287, Christchurch Survey District; towards the west and north generally by the North Avon Road to Section No. 197, Block XI., Christchurch Survey District; thence by a road intersecting that section to the road which forms the north-western boundary of a subdivision of the said Section No. 197, containing 5 acres and 2 roods; thence towards the north-west by the latter road to a subdivision of Section No. 197 aforesaid, containing 3 acres and 35 perches; thence again towards the north by the latter subdivision and its southern boundary-line produced to the River Avon; thence towards the east and south-east and south by the said River Avon to a point in line with the western boundary-line of original Section No. 26 of the said Christchurch Survey District; thence again towards the east by a right line across the River Avon aforesaid to the north-western corner of the said Section No. 26; thence by Section No. 26 aforesaid and original Sections Nos. 175 and 69 to the south-western corner of the last-mentioned section; thence by a right line to the northernmost corner of original Section No. 13, Christchurch Survey District; thence by the said Section No. 13; again towards the south by Section No. 13 aforesaid and original Sections Nos. 176, 79, 17, 66, and 72, Christchurch Survey District aforesaid, to Lower Lincoln Road; thence again towards the north-west by the said Lower Lincoln Road to the River Avon aforesaid; thence again towards the west by a right line across that river to the western side of Antigua Street; and thence by the western side of the said Antigua Street and by the River Avon aforesaid to Section No. 6 aforesaid.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop; Viscount Cranley, of Cranley in the County of Surrey; Baron Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop, and of West Clandon in the County of Surrey; Baron Cranley, of Imbercourt; Baronet; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this 30th day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety.
