I, the undersigned, hereby make application to register the British Empire Alluvial Gold-mining Company as a limited company under the provisions of “The Mining Companies Act, 1886.”

  1. The name of the company is to be the British Empire Alluvial Gold-mining Company (Limited).

  2. The place of operation is at Mahakipawa, in the Provincial District of Marlborough, and in the Marlborough Gold-mining District.

  3. The registered office of the company will be situated at No. 6, Lambton Quay, in the City of Wellington.

  4. The nominal capital of the company is one thousand pounds sterling, in two thousand shares of ten shillings each.

  5. The number of shares subscribed for is one thousand five hundred, being not less than two-thirds of the entire number of shares in the company.

  6. The number of paid-up shares is five hundred.

  7. The amount already paid up is two hundred and fifty pounds.

  8. The name of the Manager is Edward Holroyd Beere.

In the matter of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and the amending Acts thereof, and in the matter of the taking by the Waihemo County Council of certain lands in the County of Waihemo, in the Provincial District of Otago, for use as roads.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is the intention of the Waihemo County Council to take certain lands in the Provincial District of Otago, hereinafter more particularly described, for the purpose of constructing a road; and all persons affected are hereby called upon to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the taking of such lands, and to send such writing within forty days from the publication hereof to the said Waihemo County Council at Palmerston, in the Provincial District of Otago aforesaid.

And notice is hereby further given that the plans of the said lands are open for inspection at the office of the said Waihemo County Council, at Palmerston aforesaid, and the following is the description of the said lands:—

All that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 3 acres and 8 perches, being portion of Section No. 10, Block VII., Waihemo District, and being land required for a road-line to run through the said section; the property of John Walsh, of Waihemo, farmer.

Dated at Palmerston aforesaid, this 31st day of December, 1889.

Advertisements are charged at the uniform rate of 6d. per line for each insertion.

For half-yearly statements under the Mining Act the charge is 23s.

All advertisements should be written on one side of the paper, and signatures, &c., should be written in a legible hand.

The number of insertions required must be written across the face of the advertisement.

The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday evening in each week, and notices for insertion must be received
