INSTRUCTIONS TO APPLICANTS.

Applications must be made on proper forms, to be obtained at the Crown Lands Offices, Christchurch and Timaru, and must be accompanied by the statutory declaration required by the system under which the application is made; also by a deposit of, with perpetual-lease applications, a half-year's rent and 30s. lease-fee; with deferred-payment applications, a half-year's instalment and 21s. license-fee; and, with cash applications, one-fifth of the total price.

If an applicant apply for more than one section, it is essential that he should be present at the drawing for priority of choice, either personally or by duly-authorised agent, to avoid confusion in the event of his being successful for two or more sections.

Cheques forwarded as deposits must be marked by the bank on which they are drawn as “Correct for fourteen days.”

Sale of Totara Timber on Crown Lands, Wellington Land District.

Wellington, 10th February, 1890.

NOTICE is hereby given, in terms of “The Land Act, 1885,” and the regulations issued thereunder, that the trees on the under-mentioned sections will be put up for sale by public auction, at the upset price of 10s. per tree, at the Land Office, Wellington, on Tuesday, the 18th March, 1890, at noon.

The purchaser shall pay 50 per centum of the purchase-money on the fall of the hammer, and the balance within thirty days from the date of the sale. He shall have the sole use of the land and the right to cut and remove all timber thereon during a period of five years from the same date.

All the additional trees will be available to the purchaser, without extra payment, for the term of five years.

Tender for Grazing.—Land District of Canterbury.

NOTICE is hereby given that tenders for the lease, for grazing purposes only, for seven years, under section 23 of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” of the under-mentioned land will be received up to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, the 4th March, 1890. Every tender must be accompanied by post-office order or marked cheque for six months and three weeks’ rent, to the 1st October, 1890, at the rate tendered :—

Part of Reserve 2166, Akaroa Lighthouse Reserve; 136 acres 1 rood. Upset annual rental, £17.

Plans may be seen, and information as to special conditions to be embodied in the lease obtained, at the Land Office, Christchurch.

Land Transfer Act Notices.

IN the matter of Lease No. 802, THE MAYOR, COUNCILLORS, AND CITIZENS OF WELLINGTON to FRANK TURNER, of Lot 1 of Section 2, on Plan 298, part of Section 2, Block VIII., Mangahao Survey District.—Notice of re-entry and determination of above lease, on the ground of non-payment of rent, will be entered on the register, on application of the Wellington City Council, unless caveat be lodged on or before the 28th day of March, 1890.

APPLICATION having been made for the issue of a provisional certificate of title for part of Section 849, in the City of Wellington, described in Vol. xiv., folio 258, and evidence having been lodged as to the loss of the original certificate, I give notice that I will issue the certificate as requested, unless caveat be lodged forbidding the same on or before the 14th day of March, 1890.

NOTICE is hereby given that, after the expiration of fourteen days from the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, it is my intention to proceed with the registration of certain dealings affecting Rural Section No. 157, Fitzherbert, without requiring production of the outstanding duplicate certificate of title, Vol. xiii., folio 230, and Mortgage No. 1907, unless caveat be lodged at this office within the above period.

NOTICE is hereby given that a statutory declaration of the loss of certificate of title for Section 5, Block I., Township of Oban, Stewart Island, registered in Vol. xxvi., folio 77, in the name of GEORGE WILLIAMSON, having been lodged in this office, and application having been made for the issue of a provisional certificate for the same, it is my intention to issue such certificate, unless caveat be lodged forbidding the same within fourteen days from the date of the gazetting of this notice.
