Officiating Ministers for 1889.—Notice No. 21.

Registrar-General's Office,
Wellington, 27th November, 1889.

PURSUANT to the provisions of an Act of the General
Assembly of New Zealand, passed in the forty-fourth
year of the reign of Her Majesty Queen Victoria, and in-
tituled "The Marriage Act, 1880," the following name of an
Officiating Minister within the meaning of the said Act is
published for general information :-

Notice of Hearing of Applications for Patents.

Patent Office,
Wellington, 25th November, 1889.

No. 4081.—JOHN DYKE ACLAND, of Mount Peel, Canter-
bury, New Zealand, has deposited at this office a specifica-
tion of an invention for an improved fencing
standard.

No. 4082.—EDWIN ARNOLD, of Wellington, New Zealand,
Basket Manufacturer, has deposited at this office a specifica-
tion of an invention for a new or improved combined
perambulator and cradle.

No. 4083.—HANNAH WEBER, of Hokitika, Westland, New
Zealand, Tailor and Clothier, has deposited at this office a
specification of an invention for improvements in the manu-
facture of men's trousers.

No. 4084.—KARL GRAF, of Dunedin, Engineer, and SIDNEY
OLIVER STOKES, of the same place, have deposited at this
office a specification of an invention for the delivery of
matches one at a time, to be known as "Graf's Patent
Match-deliverer."

No. 4085.—WILLIAM BARNETT, Chemist, and JAMES TRENT,
Gentleman, both of Christchurch, New Zealand, have de-
posited at this office a specification of an invention for a
method of extracting and purifying the fat or grease from
wool, and for cleaning the wool by the use of benzine,
alcohol, or any other spirituous liquid suitable for dissolving
fat or grease.

No. 4086.—JOHN HENRY NODING, of 171, High Street,
Christchurch, New Zealand, Chemist, has deposited at this
office a specification of an invention for the admixture or
combination of the essential oil of eucalyptus or eucalyptol
with cod-liver oil.

And I have appointed Tuesday, the 25th day of Febru-
ary next, at 11 o'clock in the forenoon, at this office, to hear
the said applications and all objections thereto; and I re-
quire all persons having an interest in opposing the grant
of any such Letters Patent to leave, on or before the 10th
day of February next, at this office, particulars in writing
of their objections to any of the said applications, otherwise
they will be precluded from urging the same.

No. 4087.—NEIL SUTHERLAND, of North-east Valley,
Dunedin, New Zealand, Manufacturing Chemist, has
deposited at this office a specification of an invention for a
new compound of natural and artificial manures for agricul-
tural purposes, to be called "Sutherland's Productive
Manure."

No. 4088.—MICHAEL HOGAN and THOMAS WIXCEY, trading
under the name of "Hogan and Co.," Produce Merchants, of
Wanganui, New Zealand, have deposited at this office a speci-
fication of an invention for an improved apparatus for
straining, mending, or splicing and cutting wire, to be called
"Hogan and Co's. Acme Wire-strainer."

No. 4089.—CARL LUHRIG, of Dresden, Saxony, German
Empire, Engineer, and JOHN CHARLES CUNINGHAME, of 127,
St. Vincent Street, Glasgow, Scotland, Iron and Coal Master,
have deposited at this office a specification of an invention
for coal-washing and -cleansing machinery.

No. 4090.—THOMAS FIRTH, of Grey Street, Auckland, New
Zealand, Medical Herbalist, has deposited at this office a
specification of an invention for ventilating purposes, to be
called "Firth's Adjustable Air-inlet."

No. 4091.—JOHN CARTER, of Riccarton, Canterbury, New
Zealand, Farmer, has deposited at this office a specification
of an invention for a potato-planting machine, to be called
"Carter's Potato-planter."

And I have appointed Thursday, the 27th day of February
next, at 11 o'clock in the forenoon, at this office, to hear the
said applications and all objections thereto; and I require all
persons having an interest in opposing the grant of any
such Letters Patent to leave, on or before the 12th day of
February next, at this office, particulars in writing of their
objections to any of the said applications, otherwise they
will be precluded from urging the same.

REMARKS.—Showery during early part of month, the maxi-
mum rainfall recorded on 8th, 1.50in., also showers at inter-
vals up to 26th, then fine for remainder of month; prevailing
N.W. wind, and stormy on twenty days from that quarter.
Maximum temperature in shade 68.0; minimum, 41.0.
Mean temperature of dewpoint, 46.1; mean humidity, 74.

Crown Lands Notices.

Notice to prove Land Claim.

Crown Lands Office,
New Plymouth, 5th September, 1889.

TO THOMAS MOONEY, formerly of H.M. 70th Regiment of
Foot, or his Representatives.

YOU are hereby required, within six months from this
date, to prove, to the satisfaction of the Land Board
of the Taranaki Land District, that you have complied with
the conditions required to entitle you to 60 acres of land in
the Tarurutangi District, selected under a naval and military
settlers' land order; and, if you fail to prove your claim
within the specified time, your title to the land will be for-
feited, and the section will thereupon be dealt with as the
said Board may direct.
