REMARKS.

August.---Heavy rain on 3rd, 1·15in. recorded on 4th, the
maximum for month, otherwise fine up to 8th; from 9th to
18th generally showery weather; from 19th to end pleasant
weather, except wet on night of 22nd, and strong N. W. wind;
prevailing N.W. wind, and strong on five days from that
quarter; thunder on 14th; hail on 14th. Maximum tem-
perature in shade, 62.0; minimum, 35.0. Mean temperature
of dewpoint, 40.3; mean humidity, 75.

September.---Showery up to 18th, and wind chiefly from
N.W., and strong; from 19th to 24th fine pleasant weather,
with light variable wind; from 25th to end of month
showery; the maximum rain recorded on 27th, 1.20in., and
strong N.W. wind on last three days. Maximum tempera-
ture in shade, 65.5; minimum, 39.0. Mean temperature of
dewpoint, 46.3; mean humidity, 77. Slight earthquake on
19th at 10.15 p.m.

NOTICE is hereby given that a Trust Commissioner will,
under the authority and for the purposes of the said
Acts, hold a Court at the Native Land Court Office, Grey-
town, on Saturday, the 9th day of November, 1889, at 10
o'clock in the forenoon, for investigating the cases men-
tioned in the Schedule hereunder; at which time and place
all persons interested in the said cases, and having objections
to any of the dealings, are hereby notified to attend.

Notice of Rehearing of Claim.

NATIVE LAND COURT, NEW ZEALAND:
DISTRICT OF GISBORNE.

IN the matter of a decision of the Court given at Waioma-
tatini, on the 3rd day of September, 1885, upon the
hearing of a claim for division of land known as Rotokautuku;
and in the matter of an application made by Herewaka
Poata for a rehearing upon such claim; and in the matter
of an order made by the Chief Judge of the Native Land
Court, on the 19th day of December, 1885, as follows, That
a rehearing of the division-procedure of Rotokautuku Block,
so far as it affects the part to the eastward of the dividing-
line shown on Plan 29A, and comprising the area included in
division orders for Rotokautuku Nos. 1, 4, and 5, be had at
a time and place to be hereafter fixed:

Notice is hereby given that a sitting of the Court will be
held at Gisborne, on the 16th day of December, 1889, for
the purpose of rehearing the said claim in terms of the
above-recited order.
