I, the undersigned, hereby make application to register
the Glenkens Quartz-mining Company as a Limited
Company, under the provisions of "The Mining Companies
Act, 1886."
- The name of the company is to be the Glenkens
Quartz-mining Company (Limited). - The place of intended operations is at Nenthorn, in the
Provincial District of Otago. - The registered office of the company will be situated
at Leven Street, Naseby, in the said provincial district. - The nominal capital of the company is ten thousand
pounds, in twenty thousand shares of ten shillings each. - The number of shares subscribed for is twenty thousand,
being not less than two-thirds of the entire number of shares
in the company. - The number of paid-up shares is nil.
- The amount already paid up is three thousand pounds,
or three shillings per share. - The name of the Manager is Robert Franks Inder, of
Leven Street, Naseby, aforesaid. - The names, addresses, and occupations of the share-
holders, and the number of shares held by each at this date,
are as follow:-

Private Advertisements.
NOTICE is hereby given that at the adjourned extra-
ordinary general meeting of the Protestant Litera-
ture Publishing Company (Limited), duly convened and held
on Wednesday, the 25th day of September, 1889, it was
unanimously resolved, "That it has been proved to the
satisfaction of the company that it cannot, by reason of its
liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to
wind up the same, and that the company be accordingly
wound up voluntarily."

NOTICE is hereby given that, at an extraordinary general
meeting of the shareholders of the Mercantile Finance
Company (Limited), held at the offices of the company,
Morten's Buildings, Cathedral Square, Christchurch, on the
23rd day of August, 1889, a special resolution of the said
shareholders was passed to the effect that the said company
be voluntarily wound up.

I HEREBY give notice that, at an extraordinary general
meeting of shareholders, held at the company's office,
on Wednesday, the 28th day of August, 1889, the subjoined
resolution was passed, and also confirmed at a subsequent
meeting held on Thursday, the 12th day of September, 1889,
viz.:-
"That the mine and property of the Reuben Parr Gold-
mining Company (Limited) be sold to the New Moanatairi
Gold-mining Company (Limited) for four thousand shares,
and company's debts, amounting to Β£296 15s., to be paid by
the New Moanatairi Gold-mining Company (Limited); and,
further, that the Reuben Parr Gold-mining Company
(Limited) be wound up voluntarily, and that Mr. Francis
Angus White be appointed Liquidator."

per annum, PAYABLE IN ADVANCE. A less period than
three months cannot be subscribed for.
Single copies of the Gazette, 6d. each.
Advertisements are charged at the uniform rate of 6d. per
line for each insertion.
For half-yearly statements under the Mining Act the
charge is 23s.
All advertisements should be written on one side of the
paper, and signatures, &c., should be written in a legible
hand.
The number of insertions required must be written across
the face of the advertisement.
The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday even-
ing in each week, and notices for insertion must be received
by the Government Printer before two o'clock of the day
preceding publication.
