less, being Section No. 137, Block XIII, Mangaone Survey
District. Bounded on the north by Section No. 129; on the
east by Section No. 128; on the south by a public road; and
on the west by a public road: as the same is delineated on
the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Welling-
ton. For a metal reserve.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Wellington,
containing by admeasurement 1 rood 32 perches, more or
less, being Section No. 138, Block XIII., Mangaone Survey
District. Bounded on the north-east by Section No. 128; on
the south-east by Section No. 128; on the south-west by a
public road; and on the north-west by Section No. 128: as
the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of
the Chief Surveyor, Wellington. For a metal reserve.

All that parcel of land in the Land District of Wellington,
containing by admeasurement 2 acres 1 rood 6 perches, more
or less, being Section Nos. 3, 4, 5, and 6, Village of Maurice-
ville East. Bounded on the north-east by Section No. 7; on
the south-east by the Wellington-Napier Railway; on the
south-west by Section No. 2; and on the north-west by a
public road: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited
in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Wellington. For a gravel-
pit.
CANTERBURY.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Canterbury,
containing by admeasurement 15 acres, more or less, being
Section No. 2852 (in red), situate in Block VI., Orari Sur-
vey District. Bounded towards the eastward by the River
Rangitata; towards the southward by the Upper Rangitata
Bridge Road, 1266 links; towards the westward by Geral-
dine Street, 2030 links; and towards the northward by Lot No.
1, Subdivision of Reserve 1237, 400 links: be all the aforesaid
linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the map
deposited in the District Survey Office, Christchurch. For
protective works, Upper Rangitata Bridge.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Canterbury,
containing by admeasurement 3 acres, more or less, being
Section No. 2854 (in red), situate in Block VII., Waitaki
Survey District. Bounded towards the north by a road-
line, 1505.2 links; towards the east by a road-line, 199.4
links; towards the south by Reserve No. 1816, 1505.2 links;
and towards the west by the great Southern Railway Reserve,
199.4 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as
the same is delineated on the map deposited in the District
Survey Office, Christchurch. For a gravel-pit.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twentieth day of September, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-nine.

Notification that Her Majesty has relinquished Negotiations
for the Acquisition of the Porangahau and Mangamaire
Blocks.
ONSLOW, Governor.
IN pursuance of the provisions of "The Government
Native Land Purchases Act, 1887," and "The Govern-
ment Native Land Purchases Act Amendment Act, 1878," it
is hereby notified that Her Majesty the Queen has relin-
quished negotiations in respect of the blocks of Native land
in the North Island which are more particularly described
and mentioned in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
PORANGAHAU AND MANGAMAIRE BLOCKS.
ALL that parcel of land situate in the Porangahau and Tau-
tane Survey Districts, in the Provincial District of Hawke's
Bay, known as the Porangahau and Mangamaire Blocks, and
containing about 42,718 acres. Bounded towards the north
by the Porangahau River and a Native reserve; towards the
east by the sea; towards the south by the Tautane Block;
and towards the east and north-east by the Mangaorapa
Stream to the starting-point.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-fourth day of September, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-nine.

ONSLOW, Governor.
WHEREAS by the two hundred and twenty-seventh section of "The Land Act, 1885," it is enacted that the Governor
may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed
or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any
Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:
And whereas by the two hundred and twenty-eighth section of the said Act it is provided that land temporarily
reserved under the said two hundred and twenty-seventh section may, at the expiration of one month but not later than
six months after the publication in the Gazette of notice of such temporary reservation, be permanently reserved, and that
notice of such permanent reservation shall be published in the Gazette:
And whereas the lands specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto were, by the several warrants the dates of
which are specified in the third column of the said Schedule, and the notifications of which were published in the Gazette
specified in the fourth column, temporarily reserved under the authority of the said Act for the purposes specified
in the second column of the said Schedule:
Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and
exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the said Act, do hereby permanently reserve the lands so temporarily
reserved as aforesaid, and enumerated in the first column of the Schedule hereto, for the purposes specified in the second
column of the said Schedule, being the same purposes for which the said lands were so temporarily reserved as aforesaid,
