containing by admeasurement 1 acre 1 rood and 30 perches,
more or less, situate in the Village of Pahi, in the County
of Otamatea, being Section No. 162 of the said village.
Bounded towards the north and east by high-water mark of
the Pahi River; towards the south-west by Section No. 18
of the said village, 250 links; towards the north-west and
again towards the south-west by a road, 50, 310, and 35
links; and again towards the north-west by Section No. 159
of the said village, 95 links: be the said several admeasure-
ments a little more or less; as the same is delineated on the
map of the said village, deposited in the District Survey
Office, Auckland. For a landing-place.

and the remainder mixed bush; good road-access.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Auckland,
containing by admeasurement 1 rood 10 perches, more or
less, situate in the Village of Waiuku, in the County of
Manukau, being Section No. 70 of the said village. Bounded
towards the north and north-east by the high-water mark of
the Waiuku River; towards the south-east by Section No.
67 of the said village, 102 links; and towards the south-west
by a road, 290 links: be the said several admeasurements a
little more or less; as the same is delineated on the map of
the said village, deposited in the District Survey Office,
Auckland. For a landing-place.

Bounded towards the north by No. 8 Avenue, 151.5 links;
towards the east by Section No. 1 of Block XIV. aforesaid,
74.2 links; towards the south by the section last mentioned,
166.9 links; and towards the north-west by Commercial
Road, 75.7 links, to the point of commencement: be all the
aforesaid linkages more or less. For a site for a library.

Description of Land: A good proportion of fair land with
mixed bush, and remainder birch.
HAWKE'S BAY.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Hawke's
Bay, containing by admeasurement 34 acres and 20 perches,
more or less, being Section No. 133A, Block VII., Patutahi
Survey District. Bounded on the north-west by a public road,
3037 links; on the east by Section No. 133, 1231 links; and on
the south by a public road, 3182 links: he all the aforesaid
linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan
deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Napier. For a
quarry reserve.

Description of Land: Fairly good soil with mixed bush.
These lands are situated about seven miles north of the
main road between Danevirke and Wianui, distant about
twenty-five miles from the former and twenty miles from
the latter place. Generally the sections are hilly and well
watered. All the surrounding country, except the Native
land on the north side, has been taken up, and is being
rapidly settled.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Hawke's
Bay, containing by admeasurement 200 acres, more or less,
being Section No. 107, Block VI., Patutahi Survey District.
Bounded on the north by Sections Nos. 108 and 110, 3902
links; on the east by Section No. 109, 5518 links; on the
south by a public road, 1414, 1014, 304, 718, 407, 265, 365,
236, 319, and 197 links; and on the west by Section No. 105,
4424.5 links, to the point of commencement: be all the
aforsaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on
the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Napier.

BLOCK VII., WAIMATA SURVEY DISTRICT.

Description of Land: Hilly, well watered, partly covered
with bush and scrub.
The distance from Gisborne is about eighteen miles, of
which seventeen is formed.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Hawke's
Bay, containing by admeasurement 4,653 acres, more or less,
being Section No. 3, Block 12, Hangaroa Survey District,
and Section No. 3, Block IX., Patutahi Survey District.
Bounded on the north by Native Reserve, Whakaongaonga
No. 4 Block, 3344 links, the Hangaroa River, Section No.
49 860 links, a road-line 957-6 and 1015-2 links; thence
across the said road, 106-8 links; again by Section No. 49,
1354, 3604-2, and 3875 links; thence again by the Hangaroa
River to Section No. 7, Block VIII., Hangaroa Survey Dis-
trict, 14544 links, and Section No. 4, Block IX., Patutahi
Survey District, 5123 links; on the east and south-east by
Section No. 2, Block IX., Patutahi Survey District, 5221-8
links, and Section No. 2, Block XII., Hangaroa Survey
District, 779, 3893-3, 6105-3, and 1527-3 links; on the south
by Section No. 48, Block XVI., Hangaroa Survey District,
12538 links; and on the west by a road-line 14082-3 links,
a road reserve 3343.9 links, crossing a road 232-4 links,
again by the road reserve aforesaid 1510 links to the Hanga-
roa River; thence by the said river to the place of com-
mencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less;
as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office
of the Chief Surveyor, Napier. For primary education.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Hawke's
Bay, containing by admeasurement 2,559 acres 1 rood 24
perches, more or less, being Section No. 1, Block I., Patutahi
UNSURVEYED SECOND-CLASS LAND.
BLOCK XIV., WOODVILLE SURVEY DISTRICT.

Hilly forest land on spurs of Ruahine Range, between
Woodville and Manawatu Gorge. Access is had by Wood-
ville-Palmerston Road and through Ferry Reserve.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twentieth day of September, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-nine.

ONSLOW, Governor.
WHEREAS by the two hundred and twenty-seventh
section of "The Land Act, 1885," it is enacted that
the Governor may from time to time, either by general or
particular description, and whether the same has been sur-
veyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding
that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any
Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the
purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pur-
suance of the powers and authorities vested in me by by the the
said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land
in the Land Districts of Auckland, Hawke's Bay, Welling-
ton, and Canterbury, described in the Schedule hereunder
written, for the purposes in the said Schedule specified.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND.
ALL that parcel of land in the Land District of Auckland,
being called or known as Section No. 391A of the Parish of
Te Papa, containing by admeasurement 5 acres, more or less.
Bounded toward the north by a public road-line, 590 links;
