Rule under "The Supreme Court Act, 1882."

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Parliament Buildings, at Wellington, this fifteenth
day of August, 1889.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred by the thirty-first section of "The Supreme
Court Act, 1882" (hereinafter termed "the said Act"), His
Excellency William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony,
and with the concurrence of His Honour the Chief Justice
of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, and of the Judges
of the said Court, doth hereby revoke, as from the thirty-
first day of August, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
nine, the rule number five hundred and sixty-four in the
Code of Civil Procedure, printed as the Second Schedule to
the said Act, and doth hereby make the following rule in lieu
thereof, and doth declare that such rule shall take effect on
and after the first day of September next:—
- The vacation shall extend from the 20th day of
December to the 31st day of January, both days inclusive.
There shall be an Easter vacation, which shall extend from
the day before Good Friday to the Saturday in Easter week,
both days inclusive.
The words "the vacation" in Rules 556 and 557 shall not
include the Easter vacation.

Constituting North Wairarapa Rabbit District.-Notice
No. 276.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Parliament Buildings, at Wellington, this fifteenth
day of August, 1889.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS a petition from the majority of the stock-
owners in that part of the colony specified in the
Schedule hereto has been presented to His Excellency the
Governor, praying him to constitute such part of the colony
a district for the purposes of Part II. of "The Rabbit
Nuisance Act 1882 Amendment Act, 1886" (hereinafter
termed "the said Act"), and it appears expedient to grant
the prayer of the said petition:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Earl of Onslow, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred by the
said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council of the said colony, doth constitute all
that part of the said colony described in the Schedule hereto
a district for the purposes of Part II. of the said Act, and
doth hereby declare that such district shall be known by the
name of the North Wairarapa Rabbit District.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Provincial District of Wellington,
known as the County of Wairarapa North, together with the
portion of the County of Wairarapa South adjoining the said
Wairarapa North County, and contained within the follow-
ing boundaries, that is to say: Commencing at a point
where the Kaiwhata River flows into the sea, proceeding
southwards. Bounded towards the east by the ocean to the
mouth of the Pahaca River; thence towards the south and
south-west by the Pahaca River to the westernmost corner
of Section No. 265, Block XIII., Wainuioru Survey District;
thence by the western boundaries of Sections Nos. 264 and
263, Block XIII., and Section No. 262, Block XIV, to the
Wainuioru River; thence by the last-mentioned river to its
intersection with the southern boundary of the block of
Native land known as Te Weraawhaitiri; thence by the
last-mentioned southern boundary to the south-eastern
angle of the Tapukokia Native Reserve in Block I.; thence
by the southern boundary of the said reserve, and that of
Section No. 1 in the same block, all in the Wainuioru Survey
District; thence by the southern boundary of Section No.
11, Block IV., Huangaroa Survey District, to the Mangahuia
Stream; thence towards the west by the Mangahuia and
Makahaka Streams to the confluence of the latter with the
Ruamahanga River; thence by the said Ruamahanga River
to its intersection with the southern boundary of the County
of Wairarapa North; and thence on the north by the Wai-
rarapa North County to the point of commencement.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this nineteenth
day of June, 1889.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto
is required to be taken for a public work, to wit, the
construction of a road in Horowhenua County:
And whereas the said land is held or occupied by Native
owners:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
vested in him by "The Public Works Act, 1882," and the
amendments thereof, and of all other powers in anywise
enabling him in this behalf His Excellency William Hil-
lier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New
Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order that
the public work hereinbefore mentioned shall and may be
constructed on or through the parcels of land more par-
ticularly mentioned in the Schedule hereto.

Rural Land in the Wellington Land District open for Sale
or Selection.
ONSLOW, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon ane by the third section of "The Land
Act Amendment Act, 1887" (hereinafter termed "the said
Act"), I, Wiliam Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the
Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is
provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated
in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection,
after the lapse of a period of forty-five days from the date of
the first public notification hereof, in the manner and upon
the conditions mentioned in the said Act, and at the price
per acre stated in the said Schedule.
