Colony of Victoria, Importers, to register, under "The Trade
Marks Act, 1866," the trade mark of which the following is
a description:--

Description of Trade Mark.

A label in the centre of which is the picture or represen-
tation of a Spanish lady within an oval frame, said frame
being partially encircled by flowers. Above the frame is the
name "Carmenita." On either side of the frame are palm-
trees, and on the right are representations of medals. In
the background on the left is a landscape, and on the right a
seascape.

Nature of the Article to which it is intended such Trade
Mark shall apply.

Manufactured tobacco, including cigars and cigarettes.

NOTICE is hereby given that EDWARD WATERS, Patent
Agent, of Melbourne, in the Colony of Victoria, has
applied, on behalf of POMMERY AND GRENO, of Reims, in
France, Champagne Growers, to register, under "The Trade
Marks Act, 1866," the trade mark of which the following is a
description:-

Description of Trade Mark.

A label bearing the name "Pommery & Greno." This
name is printed upon a narrow horizontal band, and between
the word "Pommery" and the abbreviation "&" is a
circular device having four ornamental projections. This
device is about four times the diameter of the horizontal
band, so that the label has somewhat the appearance of a
cross. In the centre of the device are the words "Extra
sec," surrounded by a circular band bearing the name and
address "Pommery & Greno, Reims," said band being again
surrounded by three concentric circles.

Nature of the Article to which it is intended such Trade
Mark shall apply.

the Masterton Road Board, is published in accord-
ance with "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1886."

RESULT of a poll taken by the Masterton Road Board on the
14th instant, on the proposal to borrow the sum of Β£50 under
"The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886," for
the completion of the branch line of road leading from the
Wangaehu District Road:--

Number of votes exercisable, 6. Recorded for proposal, 4;
against, nil; not recorded, 2.

As a majority of the number of ratepayers, having a ma-
jority of the number of votes exercisable, voted for the pro-
prosal, I hereby declare the same to be duly carried.

Hokitika Harbour Board Endowments may be leased.

IT is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor in
Council has been pleased to consent, under section 34
of "The Mining Act, 1886," to the leasing, for a term of

seven years, of portions of the Hokitika Harbour Board
Endowments as hereunder described, namely:-

Reserve No. 145, Arahura District, for depasturing pur-
poses only (in one block).

Reserve No. 146, Totara District, marked Pastoral-area
Blocks 1 and 2, for depasturing purposes only (in two blocks);
and four blocks respectively marked Flax-area Nos. 1, 2, 3,
and 4, for flax-cutting and-dressing purposes only.
