OTICE is hereby given that this Board intends to ex-
ecute a series of public works, and for that purpose
take the land enumerated in the accompanying Schedule.
The works to be undertaken are formation, draining, and
metalling, and the construction of bridges.
Any person having any objection to the proposed works or
to the taking of the said land must set forth such objection
in writing, and send the writing to the office of the Board,
Lowe Street, Gisborne, on or before the 30th day of June,
1889.
Plans of the land proposed to be taken and of the works
to be done are on view at the office of the Board from 4 p.m.
to 5 p.m. daily, Saturdays excepted.

NOTICE OF DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

HE Partnership heretofore subsisting between the
undersigned, GEORGE ALEXANDER SMITH and THOMAS
PHILPOTTS, in the business of Builders and Contractors, at
Picton, in the Provincial District of Marlborough, under the
style or firm of "G. A. Sinith and Co.," has been this day
dissolved by mutual consent.
All amounts due to the said firm may be paid to either of
the undersigned, and debts due by the said firm will be paid
by either of them.
The business will be continued by the said George Alex-
ander Smith under the same style or firm as heretofore.

OTICE is hereby given that the Bank of New Zealand
intends to present a petition to the General Assembly
of New Zealand, at its next session, praying for leave to
introduce a Bill to be intituled "An Act to amend 'The New
Zealand Bank Act, 1861.'" The objects of the said
Bill are,-
(a.) To confirm and validate certain resolutions passed at
a special general meeting of the proprietors of the said bank,
held on the 11th day of October, 1888, and confirmed at a
special general meeting of the said proprietors, held on the
19th day of October, 1888;
(b.) To declare that payments to reinstate shares to their
original value, as provided by No. 2 of the said resolutions,
should not increase a shareholder's original liability;
