N. 68° 9' 34" E. distant 1031 links from Sub Trig. Station
V1. Bounded towards the south-west by a line bearing
W. 33° 14' N., 450 links; towards the north-west by a line
bearing N. 27° 11' E., 450 links; towards the north-east by a
line bearing E. 33° 14' S., 450 links; and towards the south-
east by a road-line bearing S. 27° 11' W., 450 links, to the
starting-point. For a pilot reserve.

All that parcel of land in the Land District of Auckland,
being Section No. 62, Parish of Ruatangata, containing by
admeasurement 162 acres, more or less. Bounded towards
the north and east generally by a road-line, 3160, 660, 1540,
1520, and 1280 links respectively; towards the south by a
road-line, 2770 links; and towards the west by Sections Nos.
65 and 63, 5946 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or
less. For primary education.
CANTERBURY.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Canterbury,
containing by admeasurement 19 acres and 32 perches, more
or less, being Section No. 2168 (in red), situate in Block
XVI., Hororata Survey District. Bounded towards the
north by Section No. 10012, 2071·5 links; towards the south-
east by Section No. 13997, 1314·5 links; towards the south
by a road-line, 1624 links; and towards the west by a road-
line, 834·3 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as
the same is delineated on the map deposited in the District
Survey Office, Christchurch. For Road Board purposes.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Canterbury,
containing by admeasurement 5 acres, more or less, being
Section No. 2841 (in red), situate in Block V., Teviot-
dale Survey District. Bounded towards the north by
Reserve No. 865 (in red), 633·5 links; towards the east by
Section No. 12332, 907·1 links; towards the south by a
road-line, 676 links; and towards the west by Reserve No.
865 (in red), 671·3 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more
or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in
the District Survey Office, Christchurch. For a gravel-pit.
SOUTHLAND.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Southland,
containing by admeasurement 36 perches, more or less, being
Section No. 1, Block V., Town of Fortrose. Bounded on the
north by Marion Street, 122·9 links; on the east by Section
No. 2 of said block, 176·7 links; on the south by Section
No. 3 of said block, 120 links; and on the west by Moray
Terrace, 203·3 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or
less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the
office of the Chief Surveyor, Invercargill. For police pur-
poses.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Southland,
containing by admeasurement 4 acres 1 rood, more or less,
being Section No. 45, Block IV., Town of Fortrose. Bounded
on the north-west by Farrar Street, 500 links; on the north-
east by Section No. 44 of said block, 850 links; on the south-
east by Section No. 48 of said block, 500 links; and on the
south-west by Sections Nos. 46 and 47 of said block, 850
links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the
same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the
Chief Surveyor, Invercargill. For police purposes.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Southland,
containing by admeasurement 1 rood, more or less, being
Section No. 3, Block V., Town of Fortrose. Bounded on the
north by Sections Nos. 1 and 2 of said block, 250 links; on the
east by Section No. 19 of said block, 100 links; on the south
by Section No. 4 of said block, 250 links; and on the west by
Moray Terrace, 100 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more
or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in
the office of the Chief Surveyor, Invercargill. For postal
and telegraph purposes.

ONSLOW, Governor.
WHEREAS by the first subsection of section forty-three
of "The Land Act, 1885," it is provided that the
Land Boards of the respective Land Districts shall sit at the
land office in the principal town of the Land District, at
certain times to be determined by the Board and approved
of by the Governor, and published in the New Zealand
Gazette:
And whereas by a warrant under the hand of His Excel-
lency the Governor, dated the thirty-first day of October, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight, and published in
the New Zealand Gazette of the first day of November, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight, it was appointed
that the Land Board of Southland should sit on the first
Friday in every month, at eleven o'clock a.m.:
And whereas the Land Board of Southland did, on the
third day of May, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
nine, pass a resolution recommending that the time of
sitting should be altered, and it is expedient to give effect to
the said recommendation:
Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the
power and authority vested in me in that behalf, do hereby
fix and determine that the ordinary meetings of the Land
Board of the Land District of Southland shall be held on the
first Wednesday in each month, at eleven o'clock a.m.,
commencing on Wednesday, the fifth day of June, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine, at eleven o'clock
a.m., instead of on the first Friday in every month, at eleven
o'clock a.m., as heretofore appointed.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this sixteenth day of May, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-nine.

Election of Native Assessor for Inland Patea Native
Licensing District.
ONSLOW, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon
him by "The Licensing Act, 1881," and "The Licensing
Act Amendment Act, 1882," His Excellency the Governor
doth hereby make the following regulations for the election
of a Native Assessor for the Native Licensing District of
Inland Patea:-

The nomination of candidates shall take place at
Hiraka te Rango's house, Moawhango, on Saturday, the
twenty-fifth day of May instant, at the hour of noon. -
If a poll be demanded by a candidate or by any elector,
the same shall be taken, and the election held, at the house
aforesaid, on Saturday, the first day of June next. -
The regulations for the annual elections of Native
Assessors for the Native licensing districts in the colony,
dated the 17th January, 1883, and published in the New
Zealand Gazette No. 5, of the 18th January, 1883, shall
apply to the present election of an Assessor for the Native
Licensing District of Inland Patea, except where they are
repugnant to the regulations now made.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twentieth day of May, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-nine.

of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint
GEORGE AUGUSTUS PREECE, Esquire.,
to be the Returning Officer for the Native Licensing District
of Inland Patea.

this twentieth day of May, one thousand eigh
