on Deferred Payments.

Bringing Sections 107 to 114 of "The Resident Magistrates
Act, 1867," into force in Auckland District.

A PROCLAMATION.

(L.S.) ONSLOW, Governor.

WHEREAS by section four of "The Wanganui Harbour
Endowment and Borrowing Act, 1877," it is enacted
that the Land Board may from time to time deal with and
dispose of the lands described in the First Schedule to that
Act in like manner as other waste lands of the Crown within
the district may be sold, dealt with, or disposed of:

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by "The Resident Magistrates Act, 1867,"
it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor
from time to time, by Proclamation in the New Zealand
Gazette, to declare that, from a day to be in such Proclama-
tion fixed, sections one hundred and five to one hundred and
fifteen, both inclusive, having special reference to persons of
the Native race, or such of those sections as shall be in such
Proclamation specified, shall come into operation in such
districts of the colony as shall be in such Proclamation
specified; and until so proclaimed, and in places not included
in any such district, such sections shall not be in force:

And whereas by the one hundred and fourth section of
"The Land Act, 1885," it is enacted that the Governor,
by Proclamation in the Gazette, may from time to time
set apart out of any suburban or rural lands such blocks
or allotments of land as he shall think fit, and set the same
aside for sale on deferred payments, and in such Proclama-
tion may fix a day on which the land shall be open for appli-
cation; and that he may also in like manner set apart for
sale on deferred payments such blocks or allotments as may
be recommended by any Land Board, and may also from
time to time alter, amend, or revoke any such Proclama-
tion:

Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and
exercise of the powers and authorities so vested in me as
aforesaid, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and
after the first day of June proximo, sections one hundred
and seven to one hundred and fourteen, both inclusive, having
special reference to persons of the Native race, shall come
into operation within the Auckland Resident Magistrate's
District, as the same is now defined under the said Act.

And whereas the Land Board of Wellington did, on the
twenty-eighth day of March, one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-nine, pass a resolution recommending that the
land described in the Schedule hereto annexed should be
set apart for sale on deferred payments:

And whereas it is expedient to give effect to the aforesaid
recommendation, and to set apart the said land accordingly:

Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and
exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the
above-named Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the
land described in the Schedule hereto is set apart for sale
on deferred payments; and that Tuesday, the eighteenth
day of June, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine,
shall be the day on which the said land shall be open for
application, at the Harbour Board Office, Wanganui, and at
the Land Office, Wellington, in allotments as surveyed and
marked on the selection map in the office of the Commissioner
of Crown Land, Wellington.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in the Governor by "The Marriage Act, 1880," I
William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, do hereby abolish the existing marriage
districts known as the East Oxford, West Oxford, and Rangi-
ora Districts, and do proclaim and declare that the territory
heretofore comprised within the said districts is hereby
divided anew into two marriage districts, the names and
boundaries whereof shall be as follow:-

OXFORD REGISTRATION DISTRICT.

Bounded towards the north-east by a right line from
Ashley Head to Block Hill; thence towards the east gene-
rally by a right line to the source of the River Ashley, and by
the right bank of that river to its intersection by a right line
from Trig. Station 16, Mairaki Survey District, to the north-
western corner of Section No. 9791, Mairaki Survey District
aforesaid; thence by that line to Section No. 9791 aforesaid;
thence by a right line to the north-western corner of Section
No. 13684, by that section and Sections Nos. 15467, 5896,
1025, 14620, 13974, a road-line, and Section No. 1154; thence
by a right line to the northern corner of Section No. 20235,
