Notice of Hearing of Applications for Patents.

Patent Office,
Wellington, 11th January, 1889.

NO. 3477.-DAVID RANKEN SHIRREFF GALBRAITH, of
Auckland, New Zealand, Fellow of the Institute of
Chemistry of Great Britain and Ireland, has deposited at
this office a specification of an invention for improvements
in the extraction of the precious metals from ores of the
same
or from other materials containing precious metals, and in
the apparatus employed therein.

No. 3478.-PETER CRISTENSEN HENRICKSEN, of Otahuhu,
Auckland, New Zealand, Ironmonger, and JOHN MITCHELL,
of the same place, Architect, have deposited at this office a
specification of an invention for an improved method of
keeping fish fresh and in a fit state for market, and as a
desirable and cheap article for food for the Queen's subjects.

No. 3479.-CHARLES ARTHUR LEES, of 27, Antigua Street,
Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand, Clerk, and STEPHEN
WILLIAM LESTER, of Lytton Street, Sydenham, Canterbury
aforesaid, Carpenter, have deposited at this office a specifica-
tion of an invention for a machine for shelling Yorkshire
fog, trefoil, and clover seeds, to be called "Lee's Yorkshire
Fog, Trefoil, and Clover Seed Sheller."

3480.-WILLIAM A. FITZHERBERT, Civil Engineer, WILLIAM
CABLE, Ironfounder, and PETER HUTSON, Contractor, all of
Wellington, New Zealand, have deposited at this office a
specification of an invention for the Fitzherbert cruding
furnace for cruding or smelting antimonial ore or other ores
or metals.

No. 3481.-JOHN WILDRIDGE, of Sydney, New South
Wales, Engineer, has deposited at this office a specification
of an invention for an improved method of sheathing cast-
iron and steel-propeller blades to protect them from the
corrosive action brought about by revolution in the water.

No. 3482.-JOHN GOTFRIED DUDECK, of Otakeho, Tara-
naki, New Zealand, has deposited at this office a specifica-
tion of an invention for improved apparatus for straining
and splicing wire, and which is applicable to some other
purposes.

And I have appointed Thursday, the 2nd day of May
next, at 11 o'clock in the forenoon, at this office, to hear the
said applications and all objections thereto; and I require
all persons having an interest in opposing the grant of any
such Letters Patent to leave, on or before the 17th day of
April next, at this office, particulars in writing of their
objections to any of the said applications, otherwise they
will be precluded from urging the same.

No. 3484.-JOB OSBORNE, of Doyleston, Canterbury, New
Zealand, Farmer, has deposited at this office a specification
of an invention for a collar or socket for attaching to the
end of pipes to be sunk for artesian wells.

No. 3485.-JOB OSBORNE, of Doyleston, Canterbury, New
Zealand, Farmer, and JOHN ROBB, of the same place, Black-
smith, have deposited at this office a specification of an
invention for convexo-concave discs to be applied to horse-
hoes.

No. 3486.-ALFRED JOSEPH BROWN ROSENBERG, of Pirie
Street, Wellington, New Zealand, Commission Agent, has
deposited at this office a specification of an invention for the
prevention of breaking and heating of eggs in transit, to be
called "Rosenberg's Patent Egg-case."

No. 3487.-FRANK WILLIAM ALLCHIN, of Northampton,
England, Engineer, has deposited at this office a specification
of an invention for improvements in or relating to round-
abouts or merry-go-rounds and other riding toys.

No. 3489.-GEORGE MCCAUL, of the City of Auckland, New
Zealand, Manufacturer, has deposited at this office a specifi-
cation of an invention for "McCaul's Composition-metal
Headed Nail."

And I have appointed Tuesday, the 7th day of May
next, at 11 o'clock in the forenoon, at this office, to hear the
said applications and all objections thereto; and I require all
persons having an interest in opposing the grant of any such
Letters Patent to leave, on or before the 22nd day of April
next, at this office, particulars in writing of their objections
to any of the said applications, otherwise they will be pre-
cluded from urging the same.

of Middlesex, England, Brewery Collector, and EDMUND
CHRISTIAN, of Clerkenwell, in the said county, Brewery
Cashier, have deposited at this office a specification of the
said invention; and I have appointed Tuesday, the 20th day
of August next, at 11 o'clock in the forenoon, at this office,
to hear the said application and all objections thereto; and
I require all persons having an interest in opposing the
grant of such Letters Patent to leave, on or before the 5th
day of August next, at this office, particulars in writing of
their objections to the said application, otherwise they will
be precluded from urging the same.

Notice of Intention to dissolve a Company.

In the matter of "The Companies Act, 1882."

I, ANDREW ROBY BLOXAM, Registrar of the Supreme
Court for the District of Christchurch, do hereby
notify that an affidavit, a copy of which is hereunder given,
by John Edwin Fountain and Thomas Napier, of the Horo-
rata Steam Threshing Company (Limited), has been lodged
in the Resident Magistrate's Court at Sheffield, and for-
warded to me, and that, unless notice of objection be lodged
with me within sixty days of this date, I shall proceed to
declare the said company to be dissolved in manner provided
by "The Companies Act, 1882."

WE, John Edwin Fountain and Thomas Napier, of Horo-
rata, two of the Board of Directors of the Hororata Steam
Threshing Company (Limited), incorporated under the Act
of 1868, do hereby make oath and say that the nominal
capital of the company is Β£400, or twenty shares of Β£20
each; that the shares have been fully paid up; that the
company has no assets, and has ceased to carry on its
operations and we do hereby apply for a declaration of dis-
solution of such company.
