Lands for Sale, Lease, and License, Land District of
Hawke's Bay.

N OTICE is hereby given that the lands enumerated here-
under will be offered at auction, at the Napier and
Gisborne Land Offices, as follows:-
At the Old Provincial Council Chambers, Napier, on
Thursday, the 28th March, 1889, at 2.30 p.m.:---

PASTORAL RUNS.

Abstract of Conditions.

Term of license, twenty-one years, without liability to
resumption by Crown.
Rent to be paid half-yearly in advance, the first payment
to be made on day of sale, being for the period from the 28th
March, 1889, to the 31st August, 1889.

A pasturage license shall entitle the holder thereof to the
exclusive right of pasturage over the lands specified therein,
but shall give no right to the soil, or timber, or minerals, and
shall immediately determine over any land which may be
proclaimed a hundred, or which may be licensed, leased,
purchased, granted, or reserved under this or any other Act.
Such roads and rights-of-way as the Governor or the Land
Board may deem necessary may at any time be taken
through any run without compensation.

No licensee of any run purchased hereunder shall be
allowed to transfer his interest therein without the consent
of the Land Board.

Twelve months before the expiration of the term of license
(if it shall be determined to again let the land for depastur-
ing purposes) the run shall be put up to public auction sub-
ject to a valuation for improvements, such valuation in no
case to exceed three times the amount of the average annual
rental of the run. In the case where the run is not again
offered for lease the licensee will be allowed to remove build-
ings, fencing, enclosures, or other improvements made by
him while lessee, at any time within three months after the
expiration of his license.

Runs may be divided with the sanction of the Land Board,
and upon payment of £1 1s. for each subdivision.

If the licensee shall not pay the rent within fourteen days
after it shall become due he shall be liable to a penalty of
not more than £1 for every day that such rent shall be in
arrear, and if such rent, together with the full amount of the
penalty, be not paid within three months after such due date
the license shall forthwith be declared forfeited.

Town Sections, Town of Levin, to be sold by Auction.

Wellington, 26th January, 1889.

I T is hereby notified that the town sections in the Town of
Levin, enumerated in the accompanying schedule, will
be offered for sale by public auction, at the Crown Lands
Office, Wellington, on Thursday, the 21st March next, at 10
a.m., for cash.

Plans, &c., can be seen at this office, and at all Railway
Stations and Post Offices in the district.

One-fifth of the purchase-money must be deposited on the
fall of the hammer, and the balance within thirty days, or
the deposit will be forfeited.
