Additional Regulation governing a Deposit Account opened
in Post Office Savings Bank by a Trustee.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-sixth
day of February, 1889.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by
section thirteen of "The Post Office Savings Bank Act,
1867" (hereinafter termed "the said Act"), His Excellency
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand doth hereby
make the regulation set forth in the Schedule hereto, and
doth further order and declare that such regulation shall be
read and construed as part of the general regulations made
under the provisions of the said Act by Order in Council
dated the thirteenth day of April, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-five, for regulating deposits in and
withdrawals from the Post Office Savings Bank.
SCHEDULE.
16A. WHERE any money has been deposited by a Trustee on
behalf of another person in the joint names of such Trustee
and the person on whose account such money has been so
deposited, repayment of the whole or any part of such money
may be made to such last-named person alone, at the
discretion of the Postmaster-General,β
(a.) Where the Trustee has died:
(b.) Where the Trustee has been absent from the colony
for twelve calendar months.
Provided that proof of the fact be given to the satisfac-
tion of the Postmaster-General. Any payment made under
authority of this regulation shall be an effectual discharge to
the Postmaster-General for any moneys so paid.

from time to time make, alter, and revoke regulations for
the purposes therein mentioned, which said regulations shall
have force and effect only in any waters or places specified
therein:
And whereas by Order in Council dated the tenth day of
January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight,
certain regulations were made, in exercise and pursuance of
the powers conferred by the said Act, among other things,
prescribing a close season for shore- and mud-oysters: And
whereas it is expedient to extend such close season for shore-
and mud-oysters in respect of the places hereinafter set
forth:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers
conferred upon him by the said Act, and by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, doth hereby make the following regulation:β
The close season for shore- and mud-oysters prescribed by
Order in Council dated the tenth day of January, one thou-
sand eight hundred and eighty-eight, is hereby extended
from the date hereof until the thirty-first day of January,
one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two; and this regu-
lation shall have force and effect in respect of the bays in
Tory Channel, County of Sounds, known as Oyster Bay,
Taurangakawa or Worser Bay, and Deep or Orokuri Bay, and
the foreshores adjacent thereto.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this fifth day
of March, 1889.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS it has been made to appear that certain
things required to be done by "The Rating Act,
1882," in connection with the preparation and revision of the
valuation-roll of the County of Southland, cannot be done by
or within the times mentioned in the said Act:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers vested in him by
the said "Rating Act, 1882," and by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony,
doth hereby extend the times for doing the said things in
connection with the valuation-roll of the said county, and
doth declare that the times for the doing of such several
things shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
- For lodging objections to valuations: Until the 14th
April, 1889. - For hearing objections: Until the third Monday in
April, 1889, or some other later day to be fixed by the Resi-
dent Magistrate.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this fifth day
of March, 1889.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by "The Harbours Act Amendment Act,
1883" (hereinafter called "the said Act"), it is,
among other things, enacted that, where the foreshore has
been legally vested in any Harbour Board or other local
governing body, any such Board or local governing body may
from time to time, subject to the provisions of the one
hundred and fifty-sixth section of "The Harbours Act,
1878," license and permit any part of the foreshore to be
used or occupied, inter alia, for the erection and use of
any landing-place or wharf upon the terms and conditions
in the said Act mentioned: And whereas by the said
Act it is also provided that every licensee shall, subject to
the provisions of the said Act, have power to make and con-
struct any necessary reclamation for the purpose of erecting
on the foreshore comprised in his license, or upon any land
below low-water mark immediately contiguous to such fore-
shore which shall be specified in such license, any building,
structure, erection, or other works to enable him to obtain
the full benefit of such license: And whereas by the said Act
it is also enacted that, in any case where there is no Harbour
Board, or no Harbour Board empowered to grant any such
license as aforesaid, the Governor in Council may in his discre-
tion grant and issue a license for all or any of the purposes
hereinbefore mentioned, and all the provisions of the said
Act in respect of such licenses shall, mutatis mutandis, apply
accordingly: And whereas there being no Harbour Board
empowered to grant the license hereinafter mentioned the
Whakatane County Council (hereinafter called "the Coun-
cil") has applied to the Governor for a license under the
said Act to occupy a part of the foreshore and the land
below low-water mark immediately contiguous to such fore-
shore in Ohiwa Harbour, in order to erect and maintain
thereon a wharf; and, in accordance with the one hundred
and fifty-sixth section of "The Harbours Act, 1878," has
deposited plans in the office of the Marine Department, at
Wellington (marked M.D. 1487 and 1488), showing the
manner in which it is proposed to construct such wharf, the
place in the said harbour where it is intended to erect the
same, and the area of foreshore or land below low-water
mark intended to be occupied for such purpose: And
whereas it has been made to appear to the Governor in
Council that the proposed work will not be or tend to the
injury of navigation; and the said plans have prior to the
making of this Order in Council been approved by the
Governor in Council, without modification or addition: And
whereas it is expedient that a license should be granted
and issued to the Council under the said Act, for the
Extending Close Season for Shore- and Mud-oysters in
certain Bays in Tory Channel.
