No. 2761.—WILLIAM VAILE, of Auckland, New Zealand, Draper, has deposited at this office a specification of an invention for “W. Vaile’s Patent Self-acting Draught and Water-stoppers.
I have appointed Tuesday, the 8th day of May next, at 11 o’clock in the forenoon, at this office, to hear the said applications and all objections thereto; and I require all persons having an interest in opposing the grant of such Letters Patent to leave, on or before the 23rd day of April next, at this office, particulars in writing of their objections to the said applications, otherwise they will precluded from urging the same.

IN exercise of the power in us in this behalf vested by “The Law Practitioners Act, 1882,” or otherwise howsoever, we, three of the Judges of the Supreme Court, do hereby direct, that out of the fees received by the Registrar of the Supreme Court at Gisborne, under the said Act, or under “The Law Practitioners Act, 1861,” there may be applied a sum not exceeding the sum of three hundred and fifty pounds in the purchase and maintenance of a law library at the Town of Gisborne for the use of the Supreme Court and of the Barristers and Solicitors of such Court. Such purchase to be with the approval of a Judge of the Judicial District of Wellington.

Goldfields Notice.

Gold-Mining Leases cancelled.

Wellington, 24th January, 1888.

IT is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to pronounce the under-mentioned gold-mining leases cancelled, and that the ground is now open for application as if no leases of the said ground had ever been applied for:—
Doctor Hornbrook Gold-mining Company; Section 37, Block I., Marina, Karamea Mining District. No. 1395.
Westport Gold-mining Company; Section 16, Block XIII., Marina, Karamea Mining District. No. 1414.

Native Land Court Notice.

Sitting of the Native Land Court for Determination of Boundaries in Mangatu No. 2 Block.

NATIVE LAND COURT, NEW ZEALAND:
DISTRICT OF GISBORNE.

WHEREAS by a certain order of the said Court, made on the 11th day of April, 1881, at a sitting at Gisborne, for the investigation into the title to the Mangatu Block, in the said district, in which judgment was given in favour of certain aboriginal natives for a portion of the said block called Mangatu No. 2. The said investigation was made upon a sketch-plan of Mangatu Block, and Mangatu No. 2 has subsequently been surveyed, and a plan made; and the said plan of Mangatu No. 2 having been heretofore, on Monday, the 17th May, 1886, deposited in the office of the Registrar of the Native Land Court at Gisborne for inspection by any person desiring to object to the said plan, and such objectors having been required to state their objections to the Court in writing: Notice is hereby given that on Monday, the 26th day of March, 1888, the Court will sit at Gisborne, at the hour of 10 o’clock in the forenoon, and the Court will then hear parties in support of such objections, and will proceed to adjust and determine the boundaries of Mangatu No. 2 Block according to the rights of the several parties interested.
