THE following special order, made by the Hawera County Council, is published in accordance with "The Counties Act, 1886."

SPECIAL ORDER made by the Hawera County Council, on the 28th October, 1887, and confirmed at a Meeting of the Council, held on the 5th December, 1887.
RESOLVED, That the existing Hawera Riding be subdivided into three ridings, viz.,—
Eltham Riding.
Bounded towards the north-east by the Ngaire Road District, from the Waingongoro Stream to the Tangahoe Stream; towards the south-east by the Tangahoe Stream; towards the south-west by the Mangimangi Stream, from its junction with the Tangahoe to the eastern boundary of Section 165, Patea District, by Sections 165 and 164 and the Austen Road to the Waingongoro Stream; and towards the west by the said Waingongoro Stream.
Hawera Riding.
Bounded on the north by the Eltham Riding; towards the East by the Tangahoe Stream; towards the south by the sea-coast; and towards the west by the Waingongoro Stream, including the Normanby Town District.
Mokoia Riding.
Bounded towards the north-east by the Ngaire Road District and the Patea County; towards the south-east by the Patea County; towards the south by the sea; and towards the west by the Hawera and Eltham Ridings.

THAT the special order made on the 3rd October, 1887, granting the petition of Messrs. Hope, McDougall, and others, re separating from Shotover Riding, and joining Greenstone Riding, be now confirmed, and shall take effect as soon as gazetted.
I hereby certify that the above special order and the resolution confirming the same were passed on the dates above stated, and in accordance with section 125 of "The Counties Act, 1886."

AMENDED BOUNDARIES.
SHOTOVER RIDING is bounded towards the north by a right line along the summit of the Richardson Range, between Mount Larkins and Mount Cunningham; thence by a right line from Mount Cunningham to Mount Aspiring; thence along summit of Southern Alps to Mount Glacier; thence towards the east from Mount Glacier to the source of the east branch of the Matukituki River; thence towards the south by the summit of the watershed of the Coronet Range to Coronet Peak; thence towards the west by a right line to the Shotover River; thence to Mount Larkins, on the Richardson Range, the starting-point.
Greenstone Riding is bounded towards the north by the ocean, from Cloudy Pass to the mouth of the Awaraua River; thence towards the east by a right line to Mount Aspiring; thence towards the south by a right line to Mount Cunningham; thence along the summit of the Richardson Range to Mount Larkins; thence towards the west by the Shiel Burn to Lake Wakatipu; thence along the western shore of Lake Wakatipu to Round Peak; thence by a right line to Mount Eglinton; thence along the summit of the watershed of the Earl Mountains to Mount Anau; thence by a right line to Cloudy Pass, the starting-point.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Waiuku Road Board, is published in accordance with "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1886."

In accordance with the provisions of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1886," it is hereby notified that a poll of the ratepayers of that portion of the Waiuku Road District comprising Lots 39, 47, 54, 55, 58, 59, 60, 61, 62, 63, 64, 65, 76, 77, 78, 79, 80, 81, 82, 112, 138, 139, 140, and Subdivisions Cc, Bb, and K of Lot 130, Parish of Waiuku East, was taken on Tuesday, the 10th January, 1888, in order to determine whether the Waiuku Road Board should borrow, under the provisions of the said Act, a sum of £200 for the purpose of metalling that portion of the Baldhills Road known as "Green's Flat;" to provide security for the interest and sinking fund, on which a special rate of one farthing in the pound will require to be levied in that portion of the district.
There were 18 ratepayers, having 22 votes, on the special roll made for that portion of the district; and 15 ratepayers, having 19 votes, recorded their votes in favour of the proposal; and no votes were recorded against the proposal.
I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.
