The following remarks apply only to the four principal boroughs:—
The births in September were 234, against 267 in August, a decrease of 33.
The total deaths for the four chief towns together amounted to 98, against 95 for August.
There were 15 deaths of persons of 65 years and upwards: three males of 72, 67, and 65, and four females of 84, 75, 66, and 65, died at Auckland; three males of 79, 74, and 68 at Wellington; two males of 78 and 69 at Christchurch; three males of 69 and 67 (two), and a female of 89, at Dunedin.
