Alterations in and Additions to the Scale of Charges in force on the New Zealand Railways.
IN accordance with section 144 of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” I, Edwin Mitchelson, the Minister for Public Works,
do hereby make the following alterations in and additions to the scale of charges, to come into force from and after
the 1st November, 1888:—

Separate railway tickets for each journey indicated in the preceding Schedule will be issued upon presentation and in
exchange only for Messrs. Cook and Son’s coupon orders, in such manner and form as may be approved by the Minister for
Public Works, to tourists resident in other colonies or countries who are travelling in New Zealand.
Tickets from any starting station will be issued only at that station.
The coupon orders must be presented in the block; detached coupons will not be honoured. The coupon will be
detached by the station clerk. Each coupon order must have the name and address of the person to whom issued. It
must have the date-stamp and signature of the local agent, showing when issued to the holder.
No tourist shall be entitled to draw more than one sectional ticket for the same journey during the same visit to the
colony.
