The foregoing, in Waitara, Upper Waitara, Ngatimaru, and Huiroa, comprises a block on the Junction Road four and a half miles from Tarata and fifteen and a half miles from Inglewood, and is an extension of what is known as the Ngatimaru Country. The greater part of Section 8, Block XVI., Waitara, is open land, and also a large proportion of Section 4, Block II., Ngatimaru; the remainder is forest country, with occasional small clearings; partly agricultural, partly pastoral. Timber is rimu, rata, tawa, &c.; soil good, and the land well watered throughout.
