Lands taken for a Road in Clutha County, Provincial District of Otago.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and its amendments, for a certain work, to wit, the construction of a road in Clutha County, Provincial District of Otago:

And whereas the Clutha County Council has laid before the Governor the memorial, accompanied by a map, and also the statutory declaration, required by the said Act and the amendments thereof:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are hereby taken for the purposes of the construction of the said road.

SCHEDULE.

THE several parcels of land mentioned in list hereunder:—

All in the Provincial District of Otago; as the said parcels of land are more particularly delineated on the plans marked P.W.D. 15932, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington, and thereon coloured blue, purple, red, and yellow.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this second day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight.

WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and its amendments, for a certain work, to wit, the construction of a road alongside Livingstone Branch Railway:

And whereas the Minister for Public Works has laid before the Governor the memorial, accompanied by a map, as required by the said Act and the amendments thereof:

Wards in Borough of Arrowtown abolished.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section thirty-one of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886,” it is provided that, if not less than one-half of the burgesses of each ward of a divided borough petition the Governor to abolish such wards, the Governor may, by Proclamation, declare such wards to be abolished, and such borough shall thereafter be deemed to be an undivided borough: And whereas not less than one-half of the burgesses of each ward of the divided Borough of Arrowtown have petitioned me to abolish such wards:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the hereinbefore recited authority, do hereby proclaim and declare the wards of the Borough of Arrowtown to be abolished, and that such borough shall hereafter be deemed to be an undivided borough.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS under the provisions of “The Impounding Act, 1884” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), the Council of the County of Maniototo, in the Provincial District of Otago, have, by a resolution passed by more than two-thirds of the members of the said Council, requested His Excellency the Governor to declare that sections five and six of the said Act shall be in force within the county aforesaid: And whereas it appears expedient to give effect to the said resolution:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power conferred by the said Act, do hereby declare that sections five and six of the said Act
