this office a specification of an invention for an improvement
in sheep-shears.
No. 3177.—David Jones, of Pitt Street, Auckland, New
Zealand, has deposited at this office a specification of an
invention for an automatic blind-cord rack, to be called
“The Eureka Automatic Blind-rack.”
And I have appointed Thursday, the 24th day of January
next, at 11 o’clock in the forenoon, at this office, to hear the
said applications and all objections thereto; and I require
all persons having an interest in opposing the grant of any
such Letters Patent to leave, on or before the 9th day of
January next, at this office, particulars in writing of their
objections to any of the said applications, otherwise they
will be precluded from urging the same.

Circular Joint for Pipes.”
No. 3180.—Charles McQueen, of Dunedin, New Zealand,
Engineer, has deposited at this office a specification of an
invention to be known as “McQueen’s New Era Patent Gold-
saver and -separator.”
No. 3181.—Werner Siemens, of 94, Markgrafen Strasse,
Berlin, Germany, Doctor of Philosophy, has deposited at
this office a specification of an invention for improvements in
the extraction of gold and other precious metals from
minerals and ores containing them.
No. 3182.—Robert Cooper, Herbert Fitzroy Clayton,
and George Holden Holdroyd, all of Huddersfield, Eng-
land, Drysalters, have deposited at this office a specification
of an invention for improvements in filtering apparatus.
No. 3183.—William Andrew Young, of Wellington, New
Zealand, Omnibus Proprietor, has deposited at this office a
specification of an invention for improvements in vehicles to
be used on common roads and tramways.

Sale of Unclaimed Property.
Police Department (Commissioner’s Office),

The unclaimed property described hereunder, and now
in possession of the police at the stations named, will,
unless previously claimed, be sold by public auction, at the
respective police offices, on Saturday, the 25th instant, at
noon, in accordance with the police regulations:—
Auckland: Revolver and cartridges, double-barrelled gun,
ten pairs of socks, and sundries.
Tauranga: Saddle, one double- and one single-barrelled
gun, oar, and bridle.
Napier: Railway-lever open-faced metal watch, No. 78881,
makers Kohn and Co., with steel guard; open-faced silver
verge watch, maker Jennings, London, No. 975; and sun-
dries.
Gisborne: Fur cape.
Wanganui: Waterproof coat.
Christchurch: Gold Geneva open-faced watch, silver open-
faced watch, silver Geneva hunting-watch, and sundries.
Southbridge: Lifebuoy, and twenty mill-pecks.
Rangiora: Pair of hames.
Waiaru: Sundries.
Oamaru: Gold ring, revolver; watch (apparently brass),
No. 7635; mathematical instruments; silver watch, No.
14722; and sundries.
Dunedin: Two counterpanes, waterproof coat, harness,
two table-covers, carpet, two pieces of oilcloth, and sundries.
