NOTICE is hereby given that Messrs. G. L. P. EYRES AND COMPANY, of 1, John Street, Bedford Row, London, W.C., England, have applied, on behalf of ANDREAS SAXLEHNER, of Budapest, in the Kingdom of Hungary, Proprietor of Mineral-water Springs, to register, under “The Trade Marks Act, 1866,” the trade marks of which the following is a description:—

Description of Trade Mark No. 1.

The special and distinctive name “Hunyadi János,” which was the name of a famous Hungarian hero of the fifteenth century.

Description of Trade Mark No. 2.

An oblong label with plain border, bearing a portrait of Hunyadi János in a circular frame, decorated at the sides with voluted scroll-work; above this are the Hungarian words “Hnnyadi Janos, Budai Keserűviz Forras,” which, being translated, means “John Hunyadi, Bitterwater Spring of Buda,” and below it the words “Hunyadi Janos, Mineral Spring Proprietor, Andreas Saxlehner, in Pest.” Then follows printed matter, and a facsimile of the signature of the said Andreas Saxlehner. The said label to be used either with or without wings, containing references to prize medals and other printed matter, and to be printed on a red or any other coloured ground, on white or on blue or on any other coloured paper.

Nature of the Articles to which it is intended such Trade Mark No. 1. shall apply.

NOTICE is hereby given that EDWARD WATERS, Patent Agent, of Melbourne, in the Colony of Victoria, has applied, on behalf of JAMES SERVICE AND COMPANY, of No. 119, Collins Street West, in the City of Melbourne and Colony of Victoria, Merchants, to register, under “The Trade Marks Act, 1866,” the trade marks numbered 1 and 2 of which the following is a description:—

Description of Trade Marks.

No. 1 consists of the device or representation of the partially-clothed figure of a man resting upon one knee and attempting to break a bundle of sticks across the other knee. Beneath the figure are the words “Union is strength.”

No. 2 consists of a label intended to be used as a wrapper for packages of tea. It is divided into four oblong compartments and two square compartments, the former covering the front, back, and sides of the package, and the latter covering the top and bottom of the package respectively. The first of the oblong compartments is divided in two by a diagonal line passing from the left-hand upper corner to the right-hand lower corner of the compartment. The space on the left of this line is occupied by a representation of water upon which is a sailing-boat. The space on the right of the line is occupied by a landscape, in the foreground of which is a pagoda and other buildings; in the background are mountains; the water is coloured blue and the shore white. The second compartment contains the word “Union” printed in very long and very thin black letters upon a groundwork, the upper half of which is coloured red and the lower half blue. The third compartment contains the words “The Union Blend is composed of the choicest teas packed specially for the colonial market in Foochow, China;” the compartment is divided by an imaginary line passing diagonally from the upper left-hand corner to the right-hand lower corner; the groundwork of the compartment on the left of this imaginary line is coloured white, and on the right it is coloured red; the said words “Union Blend” are printed in white letters upon a black band, which reaches from the upper portion of the left-hand side of the compartment to the right-hand upper corner thereof; the other words in the compartment are printed in black. The fourth compartment contains the device or representation of the partially-clothed figure of a man resting upon one knee and attempting to break a bundle of sticks across the other knee; above the device is the word “Union,” and beneath it the words “Union is strength.” The square compartment forming the top of the package contains the representation of a river spanned by a foot-bridge; on the right bank of the river is a building; the compartment is divided by an imaginary line passing diagonally from the upper left-hand corner to the right-hand lower corner; the groundwork of the compartment on the left of this imaginary line is coloured blue, and on the right it is coloured red. The square compartment forming the bottom of the package contains about its centre the representation of an imaginary winged reptile, said compartment being divided by an imaginary line passing diagonally from the upper left-hand corner to the right-hand lower corner thereof; the groundwork of the compartment on the left of this imaginary line is coloured red, and on the right blue. Each oblong compartment is enclosed within an ornamental border.

Nature of the Article to which it is intended such Trade Marks shall apply.

WHITE AND COMPANY, of Amberley, Christchurch, in the Colony of New Zealand aforesaid, to register, under “The Trade Marks Act, 1866,” the trade mark of which the following is a description:—

Description of Trade Mark.

The representation of a gilt crescent and five-rayed star on a coffee-coloured disc, with a wreath of leaves, berries, and flowers on right-hand side of said disc. The whole being surrounded by an oval aureole or gloria composed of gilt lines.

Nature of the Article to which it is intended such Trade Mark shall apply.
