No. 2938.—JOHN SHREWS TALBOT, of Auckland, New Zealand, Journalist, has deposited at this office a specification of an invention for more easily carrying military and sporting cartridges, to be called “Talbot’s Cartridge-carrier.”
No. 2939.—WALTER BROWN, of Farish Street, Wellington, New Zealand, Engineer, has deposited at this office a specification of an invention for preparing and dressing the Phormium tenax, or New Zealand flax.
No. 2940.—AUGUSTUS GROSS, of Newcastle, New South Wales, Nautical Instrument Maker, has deposited at this office a specification of an invention for electrical appliances for a mariners’ compass to give alarm upon deviation from the ship’s course.
No. 2941.—MATTHEW TAYLOR, of Lower Vincent Street, Auckland, New Zealand, has deposited at this office a specification of an invention for the construction of window-blinds, to be called “The Hygeian Blind.”
And I have appointed Thursday, the 23rd day of August next, at 11 o’clock in the forenoon, at this office, to hear the said applications and all objections thereto; and I require all persons having an interest in opposing the grant of any such Letters Patent to leave, on or before the 8th day of August next, at this office, particulars in writing of their objections to any of the said applications, otherwise they will be precluded from urging the same.
