WHEREAS by the two hundred and twenty-seventh section of “The Land Act, 1885,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Land Districts of Auckland, Wellington, and Nelson, described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in the said Schedule specified.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND.
All that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 6 acres and 20 perches, more or less, situate in the County of Rodney, in the Provincial District of Auckland, being Section No. 10a of Block XVI., in the Survey District of Ota-matea. Bounded towards the north by a road, 493·5, 432·1, 289·6, and 217·9 links respectively; towards the south-east by Section No. 10B of Block XVI. aforesaid, 988 links; and towards the south-west by a road, 992·3 and 51·6 links; be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a cemetery.
All that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 108 acres and 15 perches, more or less, and being called or known as Section No. 176 of the Parish of Mahurangi, Mahurangi Survey District, Provincial District of Auckland. WELLINGTON.
All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Wellington, containing by admeasurement 17 acres, more or less, being Section No. 5, Block IV., Mangawhero Survey District, in the Mangakareto Block. Bounded on the north by Run No. 42, 2523 links; on the east by a public road, 1874 links; on the south by Run No. 41, 1658 links; and on the west by Run No. 41, 615 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Wellington. For a school-site.
All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Wellington, containing by admeasurement 2 roods 30 perches, more or less, being Section No. 20, Block XVII., Mangahao Survey District, Mangatainoka Village. Bounded on the north by a public road, 320 links; on the east by Section No. 21, 200 links; on the south by Section No. 19, 369 links; and on the west by a public road, 206 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Wellington. IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the third section of “The Land Act Amendment Act, 1887” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection, after the lapse of a period of forty-five days from the date of the first public notification hereof, in the manner and upon the conditions mentioned in the said Act, and at the price per acre respectively set opposite such land in the said Schedule.
