Application for Rehearing of Claim dismissed.

NATIVE LAND COURT, NEW ZEALAND:
DISTRICT OF CANTERBURY.

IN the matter of a judgment of the Court given during a session opened at Kaiapoi, in the said district, on the 7th day of January, 1887, upon the hearing of a claim to succeed to the interest of Ihaia Tainui in a block of land situate in the said district, at Kawatiri, No. 45, South Bank, and known as Whatarakau; and in the matter of the application of Pepene Poharama for a rehearing upon such claim:

I, John Edwin Macdonald, Chief Judge of the said Court, and in exercise of the authority in that behalf vested in me, do hereby dismiss such application.

NOTICE is hereby given, in terms of “The Land Act, 1885,” that the sections of land enumerated below will be open for application, under the deferred-payment system, at the Crown Lands Office, Patea, on and after Monday, the 6th February, 1888, at the price per acre noted opposite each section. The amount of valuation for improvements on Section 2 must be paid in cash when making the application.

Notice to Occupiers of Runs, Westland District.

Hokitika, 26th October, 1887.

IN accordance with section 188 of “The Land Act, 1885,” I hereby give notice that the runs enumerated in the Schedule hereto will be declared forfeited if the amount of rent due, together with the penalty for non-payment, are not paid to the Receiver of Land Revenue, Hokitika, within three months from the date of first insertion of this notice.

NOTICE is hereby given, in conformity with section 232 of “The Land Act, 1885,” that the Crown lands situate in the Mackenzie County and Hakateramea Valley, formerly excluded from sale by the Government in view of proposed railway-extensions, will be open for application at the Land Offices, Christchurch and Timaru, on the 29th February, 1888, subject to the provisions of the said Act.

Notice of Intention to cancel the Lease of a Perpetual-lease Section.

Wellington, 22nd December, 1887.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Land Board to-day resolved to cancel the lease of the under-mentioned perpetual-lease section, unless the conditions of “The Land Act, 1885,” relating to perpetual leases are complied with on or before the 31st January next.

Pastoral License liable to Forfeiture.

Crown Lands Office,
Blenheim, 19th October, 1887.

IT is notified that the pastoral license of Arapaua Run, Queen Charlotte Sound, standing in the name of Charles Godfrey, is liable to forfeiture under section 188 of “The Land Act, 1885,” and that unless the rent in arrear, amounting to £12 10s., together with the full amount of the penalty from the 1st September last, be paid within three months from the first insertion of this notice in the New Zealand Gazette, the said license will be forthwith declared forfeited.
