said Act, of the weight and fineness specified in that Schedule, shall bear designs as follows:—
For the obverse impression, our effigy, with the inscription “Victoria Dei Gratia Britt: Regina F.D.;” and for the reverse, the words “six pence” placed in the centre of the piece, having an olive branch on one side and an oak branch on the other, surmounted by the Royal crown, and the date of the year between and below the branches, and a graining upon the edge.
And whereas coins of the above description have been coined at our Mint, and will be coined there, in pursuance of orders which We have given for that purpose, We have, therefore, by and with the advice of our Privy Council, thought fit to issue this our Royal Proclamation, and We do hereby ordain, declare, and command that the said coins, so coined and to be coined as aforesaid, shall be current and lawful money of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, and that this our Royal Proclamation shall come into operation forthwith on the date thereof.
Given at our Court at Windsor, this twenty-eighth day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven, and in the fifty-first year of our reign.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan, Waipukurau Road Board, County of Waipawa.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Waipukurau Road Board, is published in accordance with “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886.”

THE following is the result of the poll taken on the 3rd of March, 1888, on a proposal to borrow £6,000 for the erection of a bridge across the Tukituki River, at Waipukurau:—
Ratepayers on roll, 64, representing 97 votes. Number of ratepayers who voted for the proposal, 49; against, 1. Number of votes recorded for the proposal, 68; against, 1.
As a majority in number of the ratepayers voted in favour of the proposal, and the number so voting are entitled to more than one-half of the votes that can be exercised by the whole number of ratepayers, I hereby declare the said proposal to be carried.

WAIMEA COUNTY.

THE following is the result of a poll taken at Motueka, on the 8th day of November, 1887, on the proposal to borrow £1,300, under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” to defray the balance of cost of new wharf at Motueka:—
Number of ratepayers in district, 146; number of ratepayers who voted for, 77; number of votes recorded for, 92; votes recorded against proposal, nil.
As more than one-half of the ratepayers of the Motueka Road District voted for the proposal, recording more than one half of the votes, I hereby declare the proposal carried.

Special Order made by Pahiatua Road Board, County of Wairarapa North.

THE following special order, made by the Pahiatua Road Board, is published in accordance with “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

SPECIAL ORDER.

THAT a special rate of nine-sixteenths of a penny in the pound be hereby made upon the rateable value of the rateable property within the special area composed of the following sections: Nos. 220 and 24, half of 22A, half of 23, half of 29, and half of 30, Block VIII.; two-thirds of 3, and the whole of 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 13, 16, 19, and 23, Block XII., Manga-hoa Survey District; 3 and 4, Block VIII., Makuri Survey District; and the whole of the Pahiatua Puketoi Special Settlement Block, including the Township of Kaitawa, for the purpose of paying principal and interest on a loan of £500, to be borrowed under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies’ Act, 1886;” such rate to be an annually-recurring one for a period of twenty-six years, and payable on the 1st of June in each year.
I certify that the above special order was duly made by the Pahiatua Road Board on the 25th instant, in conformity with “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

A label having on one side the representation of a blue jay sitting on the branch of a tree with twigs in leaf issuing from the branch. The blue jay is facing a blue letter J in a red diamond. On the opposite or reverse side is an engraving of the agricultural machine known as “The McCormick twine binder.”

Nature of the Article to which it is intended such Trade Mark shall apply.

All twine used for reaping and binding purposes sold by the applicant.
