and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the last
Monday in January in every succeeding year thereafter, elect
one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the
discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting
vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of
his successor.

If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the
time appointed for holding the same, the members present
shall choose some one of their number to be Chairman of
such meeting. -
If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or otherwise,
the office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the mem-
bers may at any monthly or special meeting appoint a
Chairman. -
All questions shall be determined by the majority of
votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Canter-
bury, situate in the Mandeville District, being Section No.
1567 (in red), containing 200 acres, more or less, the boun-
daries whereof commence at the easternmost corner of Sec-
tion No. 11500 on the Eyreton and Cust Road ; thence south-
easterly along that road a distance of 14 chains 26 links ;
thence southerly along Section No. 19476, 52 chains 91 links ;
thence westerly along the road-line forming the southern
boundary of the latter section, 40 chains 80 links ; thence
northerly at a right angle, 33 chains 67 links ; and from
thence returning along the south-eastern boundary of the
aforesaid Section No. 11500, 40 chains 50 links, to the com-
mencing-point: save and excepting Section No. 1304 (in
red), situate in the above-described section.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by
the fifteenth section of "The New Zealand State
Forest Act, 1885," I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, do hereby repeal, from the date hereof, the regula-
tions for the privilege of searching and digging for kauri gum
in State forests of the colony, made by Order in Council
issued on the thirteenth day of April, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-seven.

WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the first column of
the Schedule hereto were reserved for plantations :
And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expe-
dient to exchange the said lands for those mentioned in
the second column of the Schedule hereto :
Now, therefore, His Excellency Sir William Francis
Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New
Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Execu-
tive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the powers
and authorities vested in him by the fourth section of "The
Public Reserves Act, 1881," doth hereby declare that, from
and after the day of the date hereof, the said reserves
mentioned in the first column of the Schedule hereto shall
be exchanged for the land mentioned in the second column
of the Schedule hereto.

Revoking Appointment of Thames, Foxton, and Patea as Ports of Entry and Warehousing Ports.

IN exercise of the powers in me vested by "The Customs
Laws Consolidation Act, 1882," I, William Francis
Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New
Zealand, do hereby declare that the Ports of
THAMES,
FOXTON, and
PATEA
shall, from the 1st April, 1888, cease to be ports of entry,
warehousing ports, and ports for the importation of tobacco.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this sixth day of March, one thousand eight hun-
dred and eighty-eight.
