Private Advertisements.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Taratahi-Carterton Road Board intends, under the provisions of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and its amendments, to take, for the purpose of a gravel-pit, all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 2 roods, more or less, being part of Section No. 113² in the Taratahi Plain Block, and situate near Kokotau, in No. 2 Subdivision of the Taratahi-Carterton Road District.

And notice is hereby further given that all persons having any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land as aforesaid shall set forth such objections in writing to the said Board, addressed to the Clerk thereof, at the Council Chambers, Carterton, within forty days from the first publication of this notice.

A plan and description of the land required to be taken as aforesaid has been deposited and is open for inspection at the residence of Mr. James Hooper, Nix’s Line, near Carterton.

I, JOHN TAYLOR RENNIE, Graduate of the Michigan College of Medicine, Detroit, Michigan, United States of America, now residing at Dunedin, New Zealand, hereby give notice that it is my intention to apply to you, on the 24th day of January, 1888; to have my name placed on the Medical Register of the Colony of New Zealand; and that I have deposited my evidence of qualifications for public inspection in the office of the Registrar of Births, Deaths, and Marriages, at Dunedin.

SUBSCRIPTIONS.—The subscription is at the rate of 30s. per annum, PAYABLE IN ADVANCE. A less period than three months cannot be subscribed for.

Single copies of the Gazette, 6d. each.

Advertisements are charged at the uniform rate of 6d. per line for each insertion.

For half-yearly statements under the Mining Act, the charge will be 23s.

All advertisements should be written on one side of the paper, and signatures, &c., should be written in a legible hand.
