ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twentieth day of September, 1887.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for a public work authorised to be constructed by the Government, to wit, a further portion of the North Island Main Trunk Line of Railway, from a point at or near Marton to Te Awamutu, via Murimotu, Taumaranui, and the Ongaruhe River Valley:

And whereas the said land is held or occupied by Native owners:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and the amendments thereof, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order that the Government work known as the Porewa Section of the North Island Main Trunk Railway shall and may be constructed on or through the parcel of land more particularly mentioned in the Schedule hereto.

In the Provincial District of Wellington; as the said parcel of land is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 14678, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

Regulations under “The Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1885,” for the Election of Members of Boards by Contributory Local Authorities where grouped.

WHEREAS by warrant under the hand of His Excellency the Governor, bearing date the twenty-fourth day of October last, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the twenty-eighth day of October then instant, regulations were made under “The Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1885” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), for the election of members of the Boards of such districts as are grouped together under the provisions of the said Act and “The Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act 1885 Amendment Act, 1886:” And whereas the annual election of such members is about to be held, and it is expedient to make provision therefor:

Now, therefore, His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers vested in him by the said Act and its amendments, doth hereby order and declare that the election of the said members, to be held during the present month, shall be held subject to the regulations following, namely,—

REGULATIONS.

  1. The local authorities named in the first column of the Schedule hereto shall have respectively the number of votes set opposite them in the second column of the said Schedule, and their representative or representatives shall meet at the time and place set opposite the names of such local authorities in the third and fourth columns of the said Schedule respectively to elect such member or members as have been apportioned to such local authorities by Order in Council of the nineteenth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six.
