The following information is supplied as to quantities of manufactures or productions in case of certain industries for which no special tables have been considered necessary:—
Musical-instrument factories: 5 pianos, 6 harmoniums.
Machinists and millwrights: Engines, value £2,285; saw-mill machinery, value £4,196; bone-mill machinery, value £750; quartz-crushing machinery, value £1,250.
Blind-works (Venetian): 4,953 number of blinds, 9 revolving shutters.
Chemical works: 292 tons sulphuric acid, 2 tons nitric acid, 14 tons muriatic acid, 424 tons superphosphate of lime 1,850 tons artificial manures and bonedust, and various, besides £12,820 in value.
Hematite paint: 109 tons.
Hat and cap factories: 18,933 dozen hats and caps. In one important case quantity manufactured not given.
Hosiery factories: 8,635 dozen pairs socks and stockings, and 400 jerseys.
Sail, tent, and oilskin manufacture: 180 sails, 2,273 tents and flies, 10,248 oilskins, 5,348 horse-covers, 764 rick-cloth and tarpaulins, 1,000 yards hydraulic hose, besides £128 in value.
Biscuit factories: 1,694 tons biscuits and various.
Confectionery-works: 435 tons confectionery, besides £400 in value.
Coffee- and spice-works: 230 tons coffee, 374 tons chicory, 135 tons pepper and spices, 220 tons various, besides £90 in value.
Colonial wine-making: 6,260 gallons wine.
Sauce- and pickle-making: 10,293 dozen pints sauces, 550 dozen pints pickles.
Bone-mills: 1,033 tons bonedust, besides various £767 in value.
Brush manufactories: 385 dozen brushes, 6,224 dozen brooms, besides £1,877 in value.
Basket and perambulator manufactories; 3,713 baskets, 1,845 perambulators.
Chaff-cutting works: 11,636 tons chaff cut.
Cooperages: 11,409 casks and tierces, 20,900 kegs and firkins, 2,000 buckets and tubs, 413 churns, and 5,490 miscellaneous articles.
Paper-mills: 440 tons paper.
Gasworks: 403,276,900 cubic feet gas, 7,097 tons coke, 179,582 gallons tar, besides other residuals, £4,359 in value.
Limekilns: 266,445 bushels lime, 4,000 bushels Portland cement.
Stone quarries: 387,909 feet building stone, 2,018,186 feet rubble, &c.
Heel- and toe-plate manufactories: 4,374 gross heel- and toe-plates.
