THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Eden Terrace Road Board, is published in accordance with “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886.”

MOUNT EDEN WATER-SUPPLY SPECIAL DISTRICT.
RESULT of the poll, taken the 26th September, 1887, on the following proposals: Proposal to obtain a loan under the provisions of “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” to provide a water-supply for special district, as gazetted the 2nd June, 1887:—
Subsection 1. To provide a water-supply for the district.
Subsection 2. The sum proposed to be borrowed is £7,500; cost of raising loan or interest for one year during construction not to be paid out of loan.
Subsection 3. A special annual-recurring rate of three-eighths of a penny in the pound on the rateable value of the property in the special district to be supplied with water.
Number of ratepayers on the special rate-roll, 527; representing 608 votes. Number of ratepayers who voted, 365. Number of votes recorded for the proposals, 424; against, 12; informal, 2: total, 438.
There being more than one-half of the ratepayers who voted, and a majority of 120 votes more than the half of the whole number which could have been exercised by the whole of the ratepayers, the proposals are declared as carried; and the Board will proceed with the proposals and work accordingly.

THE following special order, made by the Whangarei County Council, is published in accordance with “The Counties Act, 1886.”

SPECIAL ORDER made by the Whangarei County Council on the 29th June, 1887, readjusting the Boundaries and Representation of the different Ridings in the County.
THAT, on and after the 1st day of November, 1887, the county shall be divided into six ridings, with eight members, as follows:—
That the boundaries of the Manaia Riding be extended to include the Whareora Road District and Taheke Block, to be bounded by the Waitangi and Horahora Rivers and sea-coast to Thorne’s grant, and to have one member.
That a new riding be formed out of Hikurangi, to be called the Maunu Riding, to include Otaika, Maunu, Whangarei Town, and Kensington Road Districts, with two members.
That the remainder of the Hikurangi Riding north of the new Maunu Riding shall have two members.
That the boundaries of the Waipu Riding remain as they are, with one member.
That Mangapai and Outlying District of Tangihua be a riding, with one member.
That Ngunguru Riding shall have one member.
I certify that the foregoing special order has been duly made.

SPECIAL ORDER.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the said Act and “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” the Board of the Upper Taueru Road District resolves as follows:—
That a special rate of fourteen twenty-sixths of a penny in the pound be made upon the rateable value of the following rateable property, that is to say, all the parts of Section 151, Mungepakeha Survey District, which are within the said district of the Board, and all that part of Ngataturua Mungepakeha Survey District, Blocks V. and IX., which lies west of a straight line drawn from the southernmost end of the boundary-line between Sections 211 and 212, same survey district, Block V., to the northernmost end of the boundary-line between Sections 856 and 857 of Block IX., same survey district; and also all the following sections, in description of which the letters “M.S.D.B.,” hereinafter used, stand for “Mungepakeha Survey District Block,” and the letters “K.S.D.B.” for “Kopuaranga Survey District Block,” that is to say, Sections 223 and 132 M.S.D.B. I.; Sections 216, 215, 133, 214, 134, 213, 137, 136, 212, 209, 208, 207, M.S.D.B. V.; part Section 131, M.S.D.B. I. and V., so far as such are within the district of the Board; part Section 131 and Sections 142, 140, 143, 141, 147, 35, 148, 150, 149, and 30, K.S.D.B. VIII.; Section 138, K.S.D.B. IV. and VIII.; and Sections 17, 21, 18, 101, 20, 19, 102, and 100, K.S.D.B. IV.; Section 109, K.S.D.B. IV. and VII.; and Sections 29, 32, 203, 206, 204, 205, and 31, K.S.D.B. XII.; which sections and parts of sections shall, for convenience and the purposes of the Board only, be styled the Glen Donald Waireri Sub-district, in the Upper Taueru Road District.
That the said rate shall be used solely for the purpose of payment of interest and other annual charges on a loan of £970 obtained under the said Acts for expenditure within the said subdistrict, shall be an annually-recurring rate for the period of twenty-six years from the 1st November, 1887, or until the said loan is paid off, and shall be payable in one sum at the office of the Board on the 1st September in every year, commencing on the 1st September in the year 1888.
