ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twentieth day of September, 1887.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for a public work authorised to be constructed by the Government, to wit, a further portion of the North Island Main Trunk Line of Railway, from a point at or near Marton to Te Awamutu, via Murimotu, Taumaranui, and the Ongaruhe River Valley:

And whereas the said land is held or occupied by Native owners:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and the amendments thereof, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order that the Government work known as the Porewa Section of the North Island Main Trunk Railway shall and may be constructed on or through the parcel of land more particularly mentioned in the Schedule hereto.

Fixing Sittings of the District Courts of Nelson, Westland, Ashburton, Timaru and Oamaru, and Western Otago.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority in this behalf enabling me, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby fix and appoint that sittings of the District Courts of Nelson, Westland, Ashburton, Timaru and Oamaru, and Western Otago, for civil and criminal business, shall be held as follows, from and after the twenty-first day of October instant, in lieu of those previously fixed and appointed:—

NELSON DISTRICT.

For civil and criminal business, in the Courthouse, Nelson, on the 15th December.

WESTLAND DISTRICT.

For civil and criminal business, in the Courthouse, Westport, on the 26th October.

For civil and criminal business, in the Courthouse, Reefton, on the 28th October.

For civil and criminal business, in the Courthouse, Greymouth, on the 31st October.

For civil and criminal business, in the Courthouse, Hokitika, on the 2nd November.

ASHBURTON DISTRICT.

For civil business, in the Courthouse, Ashburton, on the 23rd November.

TIMARU AND OAMARU DISTRICT.

For civil business, in the Courthouse, Timaru, on the 21st November.

For civil business, in the Courthouse, Oamaru, on the 18th November.

WESTERN OTAGO DISTRICT.

For civil and criminal business, in the Courthouse, Invercargill, on the 14th November.

Provided that in case any of the days so fixed as aforesaid shall happen to be a holiday, then the Court appointed for that day shall be held on the first day thereafter not being a holiday.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this tenth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven.

Revocation of Notice withdrawing Lands in the Canterbury Land District from Sale.

IN pursuance of the sixth section of “The Land Act, 1885,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby revoke so much of a certain notification published at page one thousand two hundred and twelve of the New Zealand Gazette No. 84, dated the twenty-ninth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-eight, as relates to the section of land described in the Schedule hereto.

WHEREAS by the two hundred and twenty-seventh section of “The Land Act, 1885,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Land Districts of Auckland, Hawke’s Bay, Wellington, Nelson, Canterbury, Otago, and Westland, described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in the said Schedule specified.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND.

ALL that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, being called or known as Section No. 11, Suburbs of Rangiriri, and being situated in the Rangiriri Survey District, containing by admeasurement 2 acres 2 roods 20 perches, more or less. Bounded towards the East by Mercer Street, 900 links; towards the South by Section No. 6, Suburbs of Rangiriri aforesaid, 425 links; and towards the West and North-west by the Great South Road, 463 and 569 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a cemetery reserve.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 5 acres, more or less, situate in the Survey District of Mangamuka, in the County of Hokianga, being Section No. 8, Block VII., of the said survey district. Bounded towards the
