NOTICE TO CONSTRUCT WATER-RACE.

Reefton, Inangahua,
16th December, 1886.

To the Mining Registrar at Reefton for the Nelson South-west Mining District, and to all other persons whom it may concern.

WE hereby give notice that we intend to construct a Water-race to divert and use water for industrial and mechanical purposes, namely, generating and transmitting electrical currents for lighting and other purposes, commencing at a point about opposite to M. Wynn’s agricultural lease, situate in the left-hand branch of the Inangahua River, and terminating at or about Deadman’s Gully on the south side of the Inangahua River, opposite the Town of Reefton. The length of such race is two miles or thereabouts, and its intended course is partly east and west and partly north and south, or thereabouts.

The mean depth is 3ft. 6in., and the mean breadth is 7ft. 6in., and it is proposed to divert 125 Government-heads of water.
