Land in Otago withdrawn from the Deferred-payment System.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section six of “The Land Act, 1885,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby revoke the Proclamation mentioned in the First Schedule hereto in so far as it relates to the land named in the Second Schedule hereto; and I do further proclaim and declare that the land described in the Second Schedule aforesaid shall, as from the day of the date hereof, be withdrawn from the operation of the deferred-payment system.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this fifteenth day of August, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by “The Public Reserves Sale Act, 1878,” the land specified in the Schedule hereto was, with other lands, set apart for sale on deferred payments: And whereas by an Order in Council issued on the twenty-second day of May, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-nine, in terms of the said Act, it was directed that the section should be disposed of at the price stated therein on deferred payments: And whereas it is expedient that the section mentioned in the Schedule hereto should be withdrawn from the deferred-payment system, with a view to its being offered under the provisions of Part IV. of “The Land Act, 1885,” for perpetual leasing:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section six of “The Land Act, 1885,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby revoke the said Order in Council of the twenty-second day of May, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-nine, so far as it relates to the section mentioned in the Schedule hereto, and do proclaim and declare that the said section is hereby withdrawn from the deferred-payment system, in order that it may be disposed of for perpetual leasing under the provisions of Part IV. of “The Land Act, 1885.”

SECTION No. 49, 27 acres 3 roods 16 perches.

Land set apart on Deferred Payments in Otago.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and fourth section of “The Land Act, 1885,” it is enacted that the Governor, by Proclamation in the Gazette, may from time to time set apart out of any suburban or rural lands such blocks or allotments of land as he shall think fit, and set the same aside for sale on deferred payments, and in such Proclamation may fix a day on which the land shall be open for application; and that he may also in like manner set apart for sale on deferred payments such blocks or allotments as may be recommended by any Land Board, and may also from time to time alter, amend, or revoke any such Proclamation:

And whereas the Land Board of Otago has passed a resolution recommending that the land described in the Schedule hereto annexed should be set apart for sale on deferred payments:

And whereas it is expedient to give effect to the aforesaid recommendation, and to set apart the said land accordingly:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the above-named Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is set apart for sale on deferred payments; and that Wednesday, the twenty-first day of September, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven, shall be the day on which the said land shall be open for application, in allotments as surveyed and marked on the selection map in the principal land office of the district.

SCHEDULE.
ONE HUNDRED acres, adjoining Section 14, Block IV., Catlin’s District.
