the Schedule thereto is declared to be brought under the operation of and to be subject to the provisions of the said “Public Domains Act, 1881:”

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the Colony of New Zealand, doth, by this present order, delegate all the powers conferred by the Act first above mentioned, except the powers under or conferred by sections five and twelve, to

The Outram Town Board,

which shall be known as the Outram Domain Board (herein referred to as “the Board”), subject to the stipulations hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

  1. The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the fourth Wednesday in each month, at two o’clock p.m., at the Town Board Office, Outram, or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be held on Wednesday, the twenty-fourth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven.

  2. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or by any two members of the Board, provided that two days’ notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting, and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

  3. Any three of the said Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

  4. The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting, and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the fourth Wednesday in January in every succeeding year thereafter, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.

  5. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose some one of their number to be Chairman of such meeting.

  6. If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or otherwise, the office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the members may at any monthly or special meeting appoint a Chairman.

  7. All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

Delegating Powers under “The Cemeteries Act, 1882,” to the Tuapeka County Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this ninth day of August, 1887.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers vested in him by “The Cemeteries Act 1882 Amendment Act, 1885,” and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby delegate to the Tuapeka County Council the powers conferred upon him by section six of “The Cemeteries Act, 1882,” as to the appointment and removal of Trustees for the cemetery described in the Schedule hereto, and known as the Bastings Cemetery; and doth declare that this Order in Council shall take effect as from the first day of September next.

SCHEDULE.

BASTINGS CEMETERY.

ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago, containing by admeasurement 4 acres 2 roods 19 perches, more or less, situate in the Township of Bastings, and being Section No. 1, Block IV., on the map of said township. Bounded towards the North-west by Horace Street, 895·9 and 541 links; towards the East by Section No. 17, Block XV., Crookston District, 678 links; and towards the South-east by a street-line, 1025 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

Revoking Order in Council declaring Borough of Port Chalmers subject to Provisions of “The Public Bodies’ Leaseholds Act, 1886.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this ninth day of August, 1887.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS by an Order in Council made the fourteenth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the sixteenth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, the Council of the Borough of Port Chalmers was declared to be subject to the provisions of section eleven of “The Public Bodies’ Leaseholds Act, 1886:” And whereas it is expedient to revoke the said Order in Council:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony and in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred on him by the said “Public Bodies’ Leaseholds Act, 1886,” doth hereby revoke the Order in Council of the fourteenth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, aforesaid; and doth order and declare that the said Council of the Borough of Port Chalmers shall cease to be subject to the provisions of the said Act.

Native Land proposed to be taken on the Opaki Section of the Wellington-Napier Railway.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this fourteenth day of June, 1887.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for a public work authorized to be constructed by the Government, to wit, the Opaki Section of the Wellington-Napier Railway: And whereas the said land is held or occupied by Native owners:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and the amendments thereof, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order that the Government work known as the Opaki Section of the Wellington-Napier Railway shall and may be constructed on or through the parcel of land more particularly mentioned in the Schedule hereto.
